After earning her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, Dr. Ayala went on to complete her dental degree at Boston University.

At Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry, we only recommend a baby root canal if all other restorative options have been considered and it's the only treatment that can prevent your child from losing a tooth prematurely.

The worst service received by the administration area, very unprofessional, they only care about money. They used to give a great service but lately they are getting worse.
My son was scheduled for two extractions today. Arriving at the office the receptionist tells me with a lack of education to wait outside without saying please or thank you.
I took my son out of school and he was very nervous and stressed, at the last minute they tell me that the insurance does not cover the payment. On 09/08 they told me that the payment would be zero and gave me the plan written.
For them with their unprofessionalism

I brought my daughters aged 2 and 13. Our first visit was amazing. The staff is friendly and professional. My 13 year old needed braces and Nicole, upstairs, was very thorough and extremely informative and helped us get situated quickly. My daughter has been a patient with sunshine since she was a year old. I believe this is the only office my 5 year old is not afraid to go to. It has a lot to do with the environment and most of all the excellent staff. The staff is great at communicating, always respectful, always welcoming and beyond nice. We love going to the dentist because of their positive attitudes. The cleanliness especially during the pandemic is beyond exceptional. I always recommend this dentistry to anyone who asks.

The staff at Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry are absolutely amazing! When we first arrived we were greeted with a friendly welcome by Nicole. She walked us through the process, and made my 5 year old daughter feel like she was at home. The staff really does go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. From the moment my daughter sat down, the dental assistant made her feel at ease, and explained each and every thing that she was doing so she wouldn’t be nervous. Highly recommend!! Whats changed? There seems to have been quite a changeover in staff. My daughter has been miserable from a tooth ache and we have called three days in a row for an appointment. They told us that there system was down and they couldn't book appointments. What? We are mot talking about routine cleanings or checkups we have an emergency. Disappointed and wont recommend them to anyone else.

Another great experience at Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry! My 8 yo, saw Dr. Issa for an orthodontics consult who was wonderful and clearly communicated with us. No requirements for orthodontist yet, but great consult and the on target continuity with her pediatric dentist and orthodontist at same location!

My daughter gets nervous when we enter any doctors office but this time there no nerves. The office is super fun for kiddos! Lots of activities for the kids to keep their mind off of them seeing the dentists. When it was our turn her nerves came back and the assistant was AMAZING! She was very calm and explained everything that was going to happen before she did it which made my daughter feel at ease. The dentist was kind, listened to all concerns and I just felt like she cared. All the staff is outstanding and incredibly nice. Overall our visit was amazing. I definitely would recommend this dental

This office is great! From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed by the receptionist. The waiting room has Disney movies playing, stacks of books, a toy box, and a giant set of teeth that kids can practice brushing. The wait time is never long and then you and your child are ushered into a bright and friendly exam area. The dental hygenists and Dentists are super friendly, gentle, and knowledgeable. They do everything they can to make the experience as enjoyable as possible, from giving the kids sunglasses to wear during the exam that they can keep, movies playing on tvs mounted on the ceiling

We are so beyond excited to have found a place like sunshine to take care of all of our son's dental needs. From the start, I usually have issues with providers verifying our insurance benefits, but they had no issues at all... which was a great start. Walking in, their office is the cutest! Everyone was so kind to us feel so welcome and made sure our little felt as comfortable as he could possibly be! Tons of toys, tablets, a slide and even some big ol teeth to play with... all soooo clean! Highly recommend this place.

We tried it here . We felt the staff could have been more friendly especially with one of my sons having autism. I also had a smaller child. It was odd when one of the doctors referred me out to the dentistry school for a extraction when we already had insurance . Perhaps they just didn't want to do the extraction. The facility is beautiful . We just felt the staff was not professional and it became uncomfortable .

We had a previous bad experience with a pediatric dentist so I am naturally very weary and guarded. Essentially, my son had a dental emergency and even given the circumstances his dentist said he was booked until October. We didn't want to wait so I began my search for pediatric dentists in the area. My sons school is in 78209 although we live in 78245 but I figure if it's close to his school, it'd be convenient for me in one way or another. If you have multiple kids(I have 2),the waiting room will keep them entertained while you fill out paperwork. Heck, I was impressed with the decor myself. The office staff in the front were pleasant. Once you get to the back it's "smooth sailing" and both dental hygienists my son had were super kid friendly and very natural about it. The dentist herself was a natural with my son. If you rush to an early morning appointment and forget your morning coffee, take a K-pod. They have the machine there, I'm sure there are k-pods there too. Hope this helps

We needed a second opinion for my daughter. We went to Sunshine dentistry and we had such an awesome experience. My daughter was unsure of what was gonna happen and the staff made her not to be scared. Great customer service, and the waiting room is full of facts about teeth. It's a great learning experience as well. I would highly reccomend them! My daughter left so happy and that's never happened before. Happy daughter happy mother! :)
