Services
Dr. Virk is committed to a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treat facial pain, headaches, temporomandibular joint disorders, and sleep apnea. He has found that by listening carefully to his patients' concerns, and thoroughly examining and evaluating them, most patients respond to a well-defined treatment approach with a positive outcome.
You are our patient, and we work for you. We base our treatment and treatment decisions on you, your condition, and the management of your healthcare. We will collect the fee for services rendered at each appointment based on our fee schedule and patients insurance benefits (for in network insurance carriers).
Radiology is needed to see the what is happening with the hard tissues of the TMJ and is occasionally needed for the soft tissues of the TMJ. At our practice, if I need imaging of the TMJ, I will usually want to see what the hard tissue looks like, which means obtaining a cone beam computed tomography, or what is abbreviated at CBCT or cone beam CT.
A person with a TMJ disorder may experience a progression of symptoms. It's unknown why symptoms may worsen and improve over time. When a person is affected by symptoms related to the TMJ, the condition is usually manageable with common pain treatments such as over-the-counter pain relievers, exercises, and rest.
TMJD is a very recently identified set of conditions. It was in the 1950's that TMJ syndromes first received attention from the healthcare community. Not until the 1980's did healthcare professional develop expertise in diagnosis and treatment of the condition. Before that time, unexplained pain in the TMJ might be dismissed as psychogenic or a creation of the mind.

So far I’m feeling extremely hopeful & grateful for finding this place. I’ve had TMJ for the last year & the last 6 months have been really bad.
I’ve seen:
• dentists
• chiropractors
• ENTs
• acupuncturists
• massage therapists
• craniaosacral therapists
I’ve been looking for a specialist for quite some time in Austin ( 3 hours from dallas) and there’s either no one who takes insurance and costs $600+ to even have an initial meet up or they are backed up for 6+ months to even get a consult.
Driving 3 hours for treatment isn’t ideal, but after reading these reviews

Finding TMJ Specialists who know what they're doing is a challenge. I was lucky to find Dr. Virk -- as with any chronic pain condition, finding the correct practitioner is the key to pain relief. I was treated with respect they made me feel very comfortable. All my questions were answered i did not feel rushed.

I do not have enough words for the Amazing experience I had with this Team, Office, Dr. etc. I have been seen in 5 offices in 9 months and I was starting to believe my expectations were out dated. Thank you Texas TMJ folks. I normally take names to complain but I was treated and welcomed in the office so well I left speechless...... I'll be back in two weeks for my follow up...and I'll be remembering names. Can't wait to refer them to friends and family....

I've seen many professionals for help with TMJ for over 10 years including primary physicians, ENT doctors, chiropractors. Since seeing Dr. Virk for last few months I have a more complete understanding of my diagnosis and a plan for relief. His office has worked with me on insurance, scheduling and re-scheduling with kindness and care. Without Dr. Virk's expertise in this area I would still be struggling to find solutions to this very painful condition.

Dr. Virk is extremely professional and thorough during his initial examination. His knowledge in his field is evident. I am very pleased with his approach to treatment. He asks questions and really listens. His staff is also wonderful. They make sure to explain each step and check often to make sure all of your questions are answered. The entire staff has been lovely to work with at this office. Dr. Virk is an attentive listener and takes great care to assess all of the details to understand the patient's experience. After seeing doctors who minimized my pain and refused to perform imagining, it has been a relief to work with Dr. Virk who is more interested in listening to the patient to diagnose the issue rather than assume the condition. I have been suffering from pain in my jaw and neck since November 2020. I have been to multiple doctors to try and figure what was going on. Months later I was blessed to have made an appointment with Dr. Virk, he is so caring and listens to you. He did some tests and is In the process of treating me. I am feeling so much better and so happy for what he has done for me. I highly recommend Dr. Virk and all his staff are amazing as well.
