Established in 1984 by Esther and Howard Kravitz, Juilliard graduates and longtime educators and performers who drove all over New Jersey and Manhattan to give their two children all the lessons young performers require, Performers Theatre Workshop (PTW) is designed to meet every students performing needs "under one roof."
With over 70 classes on Saturday and throughout the week, PTW offers instruction to students ages 3 to 18 in all areas of the performing arts. PTW can tailor a program to suit any student's interests and stage of development. We offer individualized instruction as well as group classes.
Performers Theatre Workshop is dedicated to teaching the skills needed to cultivate the singer-dancer-actor in an environment of sensitivity and concern for each individual's particular needs.The program is based on the principle that all of the elements of theatre-dance, acting, and music-are necessary to develop the total performer and therefore it is suggested that a variety of courses be chosen from these main categories.

Join us this summer for in person training, live performing, break-throughs, and fun guided by our award-winning faculty who have graced the Broadway stage and slain the silver screen.

The PTW Professional Track is for students who are currently working professionally or who aspire to work professionally. This special series of classes offers an in-depth immersion into the process and technique needed to audition successfully.
Master teachers, who are conservatory trained and have performed on Broadway, TV or Film, ensure your child is learning sound techniques. Teachers at PTW are chosen for their success in the arts and their ability to train students to reach their full potential in a patient and caring environment.
Quality of instruction really does matter; mediocre instruction often leads a child to bad habits that get in the way of your child reaching their potential and their performing arts goals.Your child will learn accurate techniques from someone who has worked in the highest professional settings. Thorough knowledge of the subject and knowing how to teach it effectively means the straightest route to growth and progress.

At this point basically just expensive day care. Despite prices that you might expect from an elite prep school all you are getting is babysitting and "fun" for your kids. The owners are very pushy. Always trying to get you to sign up for more. Ultimately my kid had made more connections through one summer at Papermill than she ever did here. Not to mention their pathetic go fund me they posted to raise money for a new location. When you are charging people tens of thousands of dollars for classes you don't expect to have a school put up a go fund me... https://www.gofundme.com/f

I cannot say enough good things PTW! Not only have my children found a place to do what they love, but they are learning so much and in such a nurturing environment. The staff is outstanding -- they are extraordinarily well-qualified, knowledgeable, approachable and have made our entire experience an A+. We have taken classes at a lot of schools in the area, but have not found anything that meets this level of professionalism and fun! I'm so happy my kids found a home at PTW.

My daughter has been working with the talented team at PTW for the past year. I have seen tremendous development in her skillset but as importantly her self confidence.Dean has assembled a team of instructors with vast experience and credentials that have given us incredible access to the their wealth of knowledge. Their programs strike a balance between preparing for group showcases as part of a team as well as lots of one on one personalized instruction. I highly reccomend anybody considering exploring theatre dance or music for their child to meet with PTW and see all that they offer!

My daughter started at PTW at the age of 5. She loved it and was thrilled with the opportunities to perform, especially an opportunity to perform at a cabaret in NYC. Dean Kravitz, the teachers, and staff are all wonderful. Not only are they extremely supportive, but the teachers have amazing credits. They have worked on Broadway, TV, and film themselves. My daughter continued to learn and grow and Dean Kravitz let us know when she was ready for representation and then helped her gain the exposure to agents and managers. We have been a part of the PTW family since 5/16 when our then 9 year old daughter began taking voice lessons. Since that time, she has gone on to take advantage of the many classes and private lessons PTW offers. She's also been a student of its Pro Track for two years. Our now 8 year old son followed in her footsteps last year, and takes classes, private instruction and is a student of the Pro Track.

Performer’s Theatre Workshop has been a truly wonderful experience for my son. The quality of instruction led by industry professionals is superior to anything we have found locally. PTW provides a fun and nurturing environment and offers a wide variety of classes and numerous opportunities for children to showcase their talent. Performers Theater Workshop (PTW) is truly an incredible performing arts school. My 9-year old daughter has been taking classes for two years and considers PTW to be her happy place. The staff members and dedicated teachers are not only incredibly talented but are so nurturing and caring with the students. We have had an amazing experience with Dean an his team at PTW. My daughter started in their program earlier this year after a thorough orientation, goal sketching session and the development of a custom lesson plan. We have had so many excellent teachers and mentors to guide us through the process of honing her skill set in the theatrical arena. They are staffed by an incredibly talented group of teachers who have come from the top ranks of the music, stage and film worlds. The care, attention to detail, quality of instruction, and spirit at this school is unmatched. Fortunately we got in early, as this little secret of ours is bound to get out in a big way.
