Elected to consider Gold Rush Energy because of their amazing reviews. Met with salesperson David Marcil who did a fantastic job to provide us with options and what worked best for us. We required a follow-up regarding the installation and Mr. Tim McCrary was the best in overseeing a solution, which turned out not to be related to their installation. Best Solar Company to consider.

Gold Rush was recommended to us from our neighbors. They loved working with them, so we gave them a shot. I'd love to say that I was thrilled with this process but I wasn't.
What I was thrilled with:
1) Ben the sales guy. He was responsive even to installation emails that I was sending because I wasn't getting responses elsewhere. He also did some detailed analysis that I was looking for when we were evaluating which company to use.
2) I let a gentleman named Chad know I wasn't happy with the previous conduit work on a Friday (their quality inspector Mitch also commented on the sloppy job initially

Gold Rush Energy Solutions has by far shown me the best customer service I have ever seen. I contracted with them for a home solar project on a manufactured home, through a contracted salesperson. Because I have a manufactured home, most solar companies won't even talk to me. After several weeks of planning and effort put out by this company, our project was declined by SMUD for no fault of Gold Rush. My dealings with the contracted salesperson became strained. My overall experience with Gold Rush Energy has been fabulous. I originally started my solar journey with another vendor, but due to having a metal roof, found my way to Gold Rush. Their expertise with metal roofing was key because other providers do not have the experience to install solar on these types of roofs. The quoting process was easy, the prices fair, and they showed up on time for the installation. I was very pleased with Barry M. who was our salesman. Barry was very patient with us after a failed DTI ratio when we applied for financing in 2020. Fast forward to this year we fixed our DTI and got qualified. Barry never rushed us or pressured us into buying solar and of 5 companies his quote was the best.
After signing our contract with Barry and getting approved, I feel like my family was forgotten. There were delays after delays... after delays... once we were approved for the loan I had very limited communication... I had to repeatedly reach out to Barry for help.

I had Gold Rush both replace my roof and install solar panels. They were great.
The solar installation was incredibly quick. I was out of town but I think it got completed in single day. Working fine and I'm very satisfied.
Roofing is a more expensive, much dirtier and more time intensive job. By a lot. Took a full week to remove my roof and another week to install the new one. Roofers we're amazing. I have a 12x12 pitched roof making my project a little more difficult than most and they did a great job. The office side of things could use a little work but don't let that keep you from choosing Gold Rush. The work performed, as well as the clean up everyday, was as good as it gets.

What can i say but wow! I had been working with another solar company that went out of business and was left hanging for over two years! Gold rush came in did the inspection and had the solar panels, the battery and everything installed within two months. And when it was time to get my PG&E rebate, they had a special team dedicated just for that! I found out today that I get my rebate in three weeks!! Also the panels look great and are some of the better panels on the market.

This solar company walked me through their design process online by looking at a google map of my site and guessing at the height of my trees and using fancy software to establish efficiency of the various locations. This would have been impressive, but it was clear that the estimator never looked at my site before we got on the phone, as a result an hour later he was still designing and not done so I jumped off and asked that he sent a proposal via email. They recommended only one Solar Panel and its the cheapest, least productive panel on the market.

All the people I dealt with at Gold rush are very nice. With that said,
my experience as been a complete disappointment. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. I started this process in June and it is now the end of December. I am still waiting on them to show up when they say they will and to have the right part with them. Their lack of communication with the customer and with their workers is amazingly poor. So far the only excuse I have heard is COVID.
Not sure why that would effect their lack of communication when a worker doesn't show when they are supposed to. I waited

I've been doing a lot of solar bids this last year or two trying to find a reasonable price (I've done the homework to determine how much the equipment should cost so just needed a realistic price for the job. Many quotes were so far out of line I just shook my head and said thanks but no thanks. Then last year, a friend, who knows I've been researching this, called and shared his quote from gold rush wanting my opinion. Suffice it to say, I saw reviews on Yelp and from a customer service experience with Daniel, it doesn't get much better.
I've had 5 proposals and Gold Rush by far (aside from being local) was miles beyond all of the others!
Clear, concise and very patient explaining what my "owned" solar is and isn't having reviewed my two year PG&E history, advised what I needed to be self reliant with a supplemental system.
Katie supporting the installation and transfer of service from PG&E along with scheduling everything was impeccable.

My whole solar project was completely worry free. I had a great rep name Ben Hecht. Ben Hecht brought his boss over named Jordan. They were both excellent at customer service. Jordan Lykin who is the boss and owner of Gold rush energy solutions, did the roof inspection personally. This company did absolutely everything . They completed the permits, found me a great finance company, they took care of everything with PG&E, and whatever else this kind of job entails. I know there was a whole heck of a lot that went into this project. I didn't have to do anything except sign a few documents
