Services
New Eyes is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice offering advanced eye and vision care treatments. Serving patients from Las Vegas, Henderson, Centennial, Summerlin, and many other surrounding areas, our doctors are experienced with a range of state-of-the-art procedures that can help you improve your vision.
Cataracts are some of the most common vision conditions affecting older Americans, and they can even occur in younger patients. Characterized by a clouding of the eye's natural lens, cataracts lead to the loss of near vision (presbyopia) and the need for bifocals or reading glasses. Since cataracts are progressive conditions, they can ultimately lead to a significant loss of vision - and even blindness - if left untreated.
We work closely with primary eye care optometrists and primary medical doctors for the best coordination of your eye care. Our eye doctors specialize in progressive medical eye conditions, refractive cataract surgery, advanced refractive and corneal procedures, and medical and cosmetic eyelid surgery.
Many doctors start a practice with the best intentions of providing good service, great results, and a pleasant environment for patients, staff, and doctors alike. We started New Eyes on the premise that it is very possible to provide patients the best personalized experience and results in advanced medical and surgical eye care.
Dr. Helga F. Pizio is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and is one of the most experienced practicing ophthalmic surgeons in Southern Nevada. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1998, Dr. Pizio has been offering her services in Ophthalmology to Las Vegas and the surrounding area since the Fall of 1996.

I should give him zero stars. He messed up my eye and refused to fix it. I have puffy skin and was botched. I would not recommend him to anyone. Don't go to him I wasted $3,000 for nothing. I called them and they never responded, it's been five months and still no response. They caused me nothing but pain and was black and blue all over my face for over a month.

I had an eye problem the Monday after Christmas. She worked me into her schedule early in the day and found a tiny spec of something in my eye that had given me all the trouble. She treated the problem, explained what to do after, in a very thorough way. I was extremely pleased and grateful she was able to take the time to help as she is not my regular doctor in that practice, but I’ll be happy to see her again any time.

I'm sorry I had my cataract surgery. I could see better before. My left eye is in constant pain, and my right eye is useless. I can't read a book, I put my computer on 200% and everything is still blurry. I just got my new glasses, figuring that would get my vision corrected, and distance and TV are readable but not completely in focus. I called to get an appointment same day or next because of the pain and vision problems and was told they are booked for another month. How's that for helping out your surgery patient?

Have been going to Dr. Stafeeva for numerous years and she is the best eye Dr I have ever had and her personality is wonderful. She stood by me with some very serious eye problems and never gave up. You could not find a better Cornish specialist. Even my New York Corona Dr complimented her for what she has achieved with my eye problem

I had my cataracts done several years ago. I wish I had it to do all over again. She said she would correct my stigmatism and if I paid $6000 extra I could get the multi-focal lenses so I wouldn't have to use reading glasses. Sounded like a miracle. NOT! She didn't correct my stigmatism (said she couldn't do it but I think she forgot!), I think the prescription for the reading part of my lenses was off due to the girl who did the readings. I had to wear glasses to read. She told me not to do that I have to let my eyes adjust. How can I see if I don't use my readers??

Dr Jason Smart did not give me any options about Glaucoma Surgery. He just told me to go to Surgery Center to have the Laser surgery for glaucoma and I did. After several hours of the Laser surgery, I had a lot of issues and complications. My right eye did tears a lot, painful, black and white floaters with light, and it's hard for me see very well. The Retina Specialist doctor was the one who told me that there's several options for Glaucoma Surgery. Until now, I still have the floaters on my eyes. I discussed about this with Misty, the supervisor. She said that she will discuss about this to

Waste of time if you are a new patient who wants an appointment with Dr. Pizio. Initially I was given an appointment. Then they called me back to say that I must first see another doctor with decades less experience BEFORE they would even consider letting me make a 2nd appointment with Dr. Pizio herself.
BOTTOM LINE: You'll have to pay for 2 visits IF they even let you see "The Queen" on your 2nd visit AND the queen only sees patients at certain location(s). Thus, if you only want to make 1 appointment to be seen by an Ophthalmologist with decades of experience GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

Before leaving the office after an eye examination, I had to pay $47.37 as co-pay. I was surprised because Blue Shield for many years, has always required a co-pay of $35.00 for medical specialist consultation. I was told by the office personnel that it was because I did not fulfill my deductible yet. Surprisingly, my cardiologist husband just saw another ophthalmologist and paid $35.00 for the co-pay. After extensive inquiry from Blue Shield, I was advised that I should be reimbursed $12.37 (a 35% difference from the approved $35.00). The office indicated that they would credit the amount to my

I had a direct hit to my right eye. New Eyes got me in as a new patient immediately with Dr. Fajardo. EVERYONE I dealt with was so VERY FRIENDLY. The office was so clean and practicing all COVID protocol. I was terrified that I'd hurt my vision in that eye, and they were calming all the way. I LOVE NEW EYES.

UPDATE: I recently received a couple of minor in-office procedures here from Dr. Roman Fajardo. I say 'minor' ... but I suppose "hey dude be careful this is my eye!" is another way to think of it. I was 110% satisfied with Dr. Fajardo's work, it having turned out even better than I truly imagined it would. And Dr. Fajardo also possesses an easy-going chair-side manner as well. The staff & customer service also runs smooth, much better-than-average than most medical offices. Three years since my original visit (and original review posted just below) and I still give

Would have been 1 star but the staff was friendly which is always appreciated. What would have been even better is if the doctor had any respect for the patients. I don't want to write anything further in case I have the displeasure of having to return...heaven forbid.
As I think about it, based on the optomologist it's a 1 star
based on the staff it's 3.

I was sent to Dr Smart on an emergent basis. I was self treating myself for what I thought was allergies and I saw my regular eye doctor. He contacted New Eyes immediately and I saw Dr Smart. Dr Smart was kind, caring and most importantly at that moment very reassuring. When tested, I had no vision in my right eye due to a hole in my cornea. He started me in numerous meds and I was to return the next day. The entire staff at New Eyes are professional and caring. I have felt so comforted every step to recovery. I cannot stress enough what an awesome path my recovery has been under the care of Dr

Dr Pizio was great, she came highly recommended for cataract surgery. I am extremely happy with both my artificial lenses. It cost quite a bit out of pocket, but I think it is worth it. Talking to others about less favorable outcomes from other surgeons in town, I am happy I chose New Eyes. Dr Austin is a little chilly but his care seems to be adequate. The office is always training interns which is okay, but means the patient is inconvenienced waiting repeatedly for first the student doctor and then the real one. I have a vested interest in training new good doctors, but some simple little treat

For my husband, Richard. Impressive. Needed Cataract Surgery, and this New Eyes staff were wonderful. He was given excellent care from beginning to end. Friendly, skilled staff, efficient service, thorough knowledge. Dr. Fajardo is smiling, efficient and makes you feel important. Dr. Pizio saw me also, and was terrific. My sight is greatly improved with bright and clear vision. Thanks to their whole staff.
