Obtaining a name change in Texas is different for an adult than for a minor under 18 years of age. For a minor, the petition must be filed with the court by a parent or guardian on behalf of the minor. My experience with this law firm not once but twice has been an extreme letdown. They have left me in a que on a zoom call for over two hours (not once, twice!) when they had already settled my case without telling me that they were going to do that. They never call to let you know anything about your case or any courtesy calls whatsoever. Bottom line if you want whoever you’re going against to win and come out ahead then this is the law firm for you. Typically greedy assembly line lawyer, you get what you pay for.

It’s taken me a long time to leave a review, mostly because I’m not a very confrontational person and I tend to avoid speaking up for myself but these are some things that even months later stayed with me about this firm. First, I did not like the way Mr. Bourlon spoke to me like I was incompetent whenever I asked a question, I’m sorry that I wanted more explanation as I have not studied law. Second, they were not very organized, and I understand they have many clients but that’s why organization is so important, I was told at one point that my child’s father was going after me for child

Absolutely unprofessional law firm and was unable to help me. My attorney was only concerned with closing and moving on the the next case. They pride themselves on their Christian and family values but have no concern if you are a single mother trying to find justice. He personaly told me my children would get bullied if I didn't change their last names despite them being of the same father and insinuated that I am a w***e. He has no personal regard for his clients and is only looking for a check.

Friendly people but should have spent money on a better firm. They never call back when they say they will, I always had to call back. Been waiting on my final decree paperwork for over a year and a half and they just said I can just pay to get it printed out. I spent about 3000 on their service and can’t even get the paperwork they were supposed to give me smh!
The person that told me about them even said they weren’t professional at all but I thought it just could have been that situation but nope. Do not recommend Bourlon law firm at all. I’m hoping they see this and make things right

I am very happy I called Bourlon Law..from the initial call the process was very smooth. I was able to get in for a consultation for the next day and when I arrived I was seen immediately. The staff was friendly and professional. I went in for 2 different matters. 1 was to see if I had any geographical restrictions and the process to be able to move out of state, the second was to modify previous court orders. Mr. Bourlon gave very good advice in how to proceed so that both issues get resolved legally. I also found the price to be reasonable.
