S.B. Shellabarger started the first Funeral Home in Nampa in September of 1907 located on the corner of 12th Ave. South and 4th St. South (where Key Bank is currently). In 1940, Robinson Funeral Chapel moved two blocks to the west to where we still stand today on the corner of 404 10th Ave. South. The Alsips owned and operated the funeral home until it was again purchased by John Van Manen, Ken King, and George Asselin in 1979.
South and 5th St. South, and owned and operated by Howard and Norine Persons, merged together to form Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel. If you are looking for genealogical information for Nampa residents, we are your source. We hold the records to Talley, Edmunds, Walker, and Shepherd Mortuaries, along with the others listed above.

The staff at Alsip & Persons was amazing to work with during a very difficult time for my family. My son’s passing was unexpected, and we were in a fog, stricken by grief and sadness. The day we met with John Noorda to make selections and plan services was a very difficult day for all of us. But we never felt rushed, his sensitivity to our family's needs was very comforting and that was very much appreciated. Thank you to John and all the staff at Alsip & Persons.

Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel without a doubt did an amazing job. My mother passed away and the service was beautiful. They made the process very easy and not stressful. They were always there to answer any questions I had. The staff was very caring, I work with John and I highly recommend this facility regarding passing of a loved one.

I want to thank the staff at Alsip & Persons. They gave class act service from start to finish. They explained all the details step by step and took care of the out of state transportation. Clark was able to lighten the mood and make me feel like I wasn't even arranging a funeral for a family member. I highly recommend them.

I can't thank you Clarke enough for the wonderful job you and your staff did with the services for my father and the funeral. I remember when we walked in to make prior arrangements we talked about how simple things would be because my father was a simple man. When his time came you and your staff were exceptional and making things happen last minute changes and really making us feel that it was all about my father. Thank you so much for your kind caring thoughtful service. It was more beautiful then I could of asked for. For my father being such a simple man he sure did go out with a bang! It

We had a death in April 2021, this was over state lines. The Alsip team took care of all the details. In June, we had another death in our family. The Alsip team was there for us once again. As a family we appreciate all that was done for us! Thank you all for the support and caring of our family members.
