When I was born, I was labeled a failure to thrive baby. Ever since I can remember, majority of my doctor visits were them trying to figure out what was "wrong with me". I have severe allergies to milk and wheat. I don't eat soy, animal protein, yeast, artificial colors and I also respond negatively to cross contamination.

Hosting an allergy-free birthday party is no joke.
My son and a few of his friends have food allergies so cake is always a concern. Usually he ends up eating fruit to avoid the drama.
We tried Whole Foods Market last year, beautiful cake, but not as tasty. This year, The Pink Bakery pulled it off without a hitch. Organic, allergen free cupcakes - no dairy, nuts, gluten, eggs, etc. It's local and they pride themselves on not using the 8 most popular allergens.
The bakery owner takes time at delivery to explain how to keep the cakes intact since they are organic and can easily become hard
