When George Carson Boyd started the shop as a vegetable, fruit and flower stand in Wilmington back in the day, the focus quickly turned to the flowers. Boyd began growing them, and a few years later, opened a storefront downtown.

I felt a great need to write this review because of how easy it was to use Boyds Flowers. After searching online and knowing that flower deliveries usually add service and delivery fees, I decided to shop the local florists. I know Boyds is a staple florist in the area so I went to their website. The Get Well selection was limited (which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars) but I found a beautiful arrangement. I called the store because I didn't have a room number at the hospital at the time of placing the order and wasn't sure how this was going to go down. I spoke to Wendy

Had arrangement done for a dear friend's Mother's funeral in Delaware. Being in California I was skeptical of not being able to go into the shop to speak in person with someone and place the order.
I spoke with Aindrea, let her know what colors and flower type the Mother liked and asked her to use her expertise and put something together.
The results were GORGEOUS!!! The family was so pleased and appreciative. Thank you!!!!

Sunday we had tragic funeral services for a precious, very young man. I have not been so sad in a long time. This funeral was healing to family and friends in many ways.
Boyd's Florists came through at the last minutes with these gorgeous flowers. I have not seen Callalily's since our wedding, all those years ago. As hard as the day was, our boys were thankful for the beautiful display of flowers. Thank you Jackie Cinaglia, and your amazing staff!

Flowers were fine.. But the genius delivery person placed the vase directly in front of- and flat up against my front door. I couldn't open the front door because of this- I had to knock the vase over with the door in order to open it- spilled water out and mussed up the arrangement a little. Not too swift of the delivery person. There was plenty of room off to the side to place these flowers. Not sure why they chose to place them where they did.

What can I say about Boyd's except that they are the best florist in all of Delaware, possibly Pennsylvania too. I ordered a beautiful arrangement for a centerpiece of a surprise birthday party and they did not disappoint. I asked them to upgrade one of their featured pieces and they did so beautifully adding hard to find Iris's and beautiful lilies and roses. I could not be happier with the work they did to really make this occasion extra special. I will never go anywhere else for my floral needs then Boyds. They are simply the best

Sadly, this is a mixed review. After extensive researching, it appeared Boyd's would be the best florist in the area. The occasion is my beloved aunt's funeral. The arrangement selected is gorgeous and the top of the line but the customer service for me, will be at the very bottom. Wendy, who took my order, was curt and insensitive. Yes, florists deal with happy occasions most of the time, but in this case, placing the order during my grief was made even more stressful. Attitude adjustment, PLEASE! for the sake of those who find a similar circumstance to mine.

My husband has been bringing home flowers from Boyd's for years (including this past Valentine's) and I'm always in amazement at just how fresh and beautifully arranged they are. Mostly the FRESH aspect. Their flower arrangements have always lasted over TWO WEEKS before they look like they're fading. I fill the water in the vase at least two full times during that time. Most flowers from other places are already half way fading when I've received them so I never have to re-fill the vase.

I've been a Boyd's customer for over 10 years because of its friendly staff, lovely fresh flowers and greenery, and thoughtfully creative arrangements. In my opinion from MANY years of receiving floral arrangements from a number of businesses, Boyds is Number Uno!!!!! EVERY TIME I have received a plant, roses or other flowers, they have been very healthy and VERY LONG-LASTING. Take, for example, the absolutely GORGEOUS long stem coral and cream roses I ordered for my Mom's funeral. The funeral was over one week ago and the roses are still stunning. No brown spots, no drooping. Thank you so much to all the professionals at Boyds!!!

I ordered the "Can't lose" dozen red roses for my daughter in law for the birth of our granddaughter. The roses were absolutely beautiful. They arrived before she even left the recovery room. As I was carrying them from recovery to her room everyone we passed made comment on how beautiful they were and that is exactly the reaction I wanted.
Sometimes roses appear a little old but that was not the case with these. I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you Boyd's for a job well done!

Have ordered flowers many times from Boyd's for many different occasions (mother's day, anniversary, etc), but am just now leaving a review. The quality of the flowers and their arrangements always stand out. Attended a funeral today where the flowers we sent from Boyd's arrived the day before. The family of the deceased told us that our arrangement stood head and shoulders above all the rest. They placed it front and center where it could be seen by all.

Boyd's was recommended to me by a friend, and boy do I owe her for it! They were great on the phone, discussing the centerpieces I needed for a party, and they cheerfully changed the order for me twice before delivering exactly what I needed, beautifully and on time, the day of the party. I placed an order online to be sent to a family member in the hospital (the Toddler Busy Bucket) and requested a few changes to accommodate food allergies. Jackie at Boyd's emailed me to confirm the changes (which I really appreciated) and it was delivered same day. I couldn't be more pleased with the communication and ease of ordering online. My little cousin really loved the gift, as well.
One thing, however, is that even though the site says there are order takers available 24/7, I was unable to reach anyone when I called after business hours yesterday or around 9:15 this morning

Maybe the young woman with whom I spoke with today was busy, distracted or just didn't care but her unwillingness to help me with a flower arrangement was disappointing. I wanted to order an arrangement and asked if the shop could order garden roses. She said May. I asked if she meant May of 2012 and she said yes. Then I asked what they could get in which might have a fragrance and she suggested I cal the flower shop which is just around the corner. I am blown away. I will take my order, which I was going to spend 100.00 on the arrangement, and go to another flower shop in Wilmington. No customer
