Gerry Lorenz, proprietor of Whippletree Farms Antiques started his business some thirty five years ago at the Wauconda Orchards in the sleepy resort community of Wauconda, Illinois. Twenty years later in 1997, he acquired the former Blackburn and Broughton Hardware store located in the business district on Main Street, and christened it, "Whippletree Farms Antiques, " where it remains today.
At Whippletree, we are always on the hunt to find new antiques for our collection. Quite a selection of excellent quality antique furniture in addition to paintings, light fixtures... The front of the store is narrow, but the building is very long and two stories! There's quite a bit to see! Came away with three matching brass picture frames at a very reasonable price. Will have to visit again.
