I wasn't going to post anything online, but because Dr. Kristyn Beck felt it necessary to send me a certified letter basically telling me that I'm an idiot and should find myself a new dermatologist I decided to share my experience. I have suffered from psoriasis my entire life, especially in my scalp, and after using the nasty creams and solutions that smell like rubbing alcohol for almost 20 years I finally asked for Otezla. My wife and I went to Dr. Beck desperate for answers. We had been suffering from a severe case of scabies and to say we were drained mentally and physically is an understatement. We had been to the ER and another doctor and were misdiagnosed twice. Dr. Beck diagnosed us within 15 minutes and in days my wife’s condition had completely reversed course. Had a great experience under Doctor Pike's care where I felt she was kind, listened intently, and provided high quality care, until I felt really embarrassed at one of my appointments. Dr. Pike and her female aid were literally making fun and laughing at my acne flare-up outside the exam room door. I was completely shocked! I could hear everything they said and then they immediately walked in completely neutral. Again, I was shocked as that behavior was not in line with how I perceived Dr. Pike. They leave a voicemail that appointment is canceled. I try for two days to get an appointment but no answer. Leave s message. No return call. Third day I get appointment desk and try to get a new appointment. Can’t get appointment for a month. Explained waited for last appointment forever. He says to me, we called you 2 weeks ago. I say no you left a voicemail 3 days ago. Not the first time I heard excuses.

I'm picky about physician reviews, that's why I rarely even post them at all. However, I was impressed enough with Dr. Kristyn Beck and staff that I'm willing to write a 5 star review after a single visit.
Dr. Beck is the new kid on the block with Dermatology Inc of Virginia. She is with two veteran dermatologist. From what I understand she is the only doctor taking new patients. She trained at EVMS under respected pediatric Dr. Judith Williams of CHKD. Dr. Beck treats both adults and children.
The staff was friendly when checking in. The patient waiting room is small and dated

Showed up on time the first visit and Dr Beck spent no more than 5 minutes with me discussing my situation and gave me some prescriptions and basically kicked me out the door. Came back the second time after Dr Beck said when I get another outbreak to just come in. Well that didn't happen I needed eean appointment and had to wait when I called and said I need to come in that I was having another bad outbreak. They gave me an appointment five days later.
