Ever since moving to Saratoga in 1993, Jason Friedman has envisioned opening a deli for the locals like the ones he grew up eating at in the neighborhoods of Long Island. These delis had soul. They did things the right way and didn't take shortcuts. We hope you'll find Fat Paulie's Delicatessen a fitting tribute to the ideals of these old school delis, and a nice addition to the already great delis and restaurants that Saratoga has to offer.

Everything at the deli is made in-house using traditional methods and preparations including all prepared deli salads, stocks, sauces and soups. Fresh bread is delivered every single day from Anthony & Sons Italian Bakery downstate. Yesterday's bread is used as breadcrumbs and croutons. Fresh mozz is made every single day from local milk.

Good eggplant parm sandwiches, just could use a little more sauce. The bread is perfect can't get bread like that too many places around here.

The fat Paulie special! The chicken Parm! Too many choices... And none of them wrong. This place is NOT to be missed. It has real potential to be a franchise. And what a world dominating franchise it could be.. assuming no degradation of product/service.

First time was the other day ordering from Fat Paulie's and the subs are fantastic!! The bread is so fresh and soft. The BLT and Chicken Parm subs were a huge hit!!!! Kudos for making authentic great quality food!! Pricing is fair for the area.

Gone downhill. I’ve eaten here a couple times before and it was great. Today we got some sandwiches and they were 1. Way too salty 2. No sauce (on an eggplant parm) 3. Only one piece of eggplant on half the sandwich and very little meat on my friends. Hope they can return to their previous level of quality

The sandwiches were on day old stale bread. They were dry and very little meat. Even the lettuce and tomato was skimpy. Definitely not a good experience at all.

Only place around here that compares to the delis closer to NYC where I’m from. Great customer service and fresh quality food.
Favorites for me- Doritos crusted chicken sandwich hands down! The turkey sandwich with an extra side of their special sauce, potato salad & fresh mozzarella.

We stopped in (just a block off Broadway) and grabbed sandwiches to-go and headed to the track. Great brisket sandwich. Wife loved her Italian sub. Enjoyed them so much that we stopped in Sunday morning for a bacon, egg & cheese and a chicken salad sandwich to eat on the long road-trip home. Highly recommend!

Chicken Parm (pictured here), meatball, and the brisket sandwiches are to die for. The tomato soup (pictured here) is next to none. The fresh mozz on the parm and meatball is insane. The Horseradish aoli on the brisket could use a little more kick in my opinion. But seriously go eat here you will not be disappointed no matter what you order.

I love this deli! The staff is always friendly and accommodating, especially during these hard Covid times, and the food is scrumptious! Our group ordered a French Onion Soup, That Good Salad, the Hot and Crispy Doritos Fried Chicken Hero and an Italian Mix Hero and everyone was in love with their choice. Fat Paulie's prepares all of their menu items in house and they even make their own fresh mozzarella daily, which, I decided to purchase for later snacking :) Would give 10 stars if I could!!!
