This 50 minute workout utilizes our one-of-a-kind resistance machine, The X-Former. We practice slow, controlled, continuous tension, quick transitions and effective range of motion using resistance and balance to activate the slow-twitch fat-burning muscle fibers.
The goal is to keep you in the fat burning zone for the entire duration of class in order to build long, lean muscles. AKA, it works. In order to book your first class at Modern Pilates, you'll need to create an account with MindBody - they're our scheduling app. So download the app (it's the easiest way to book classes on the go!) and create an account. In an X-Former machine, there are springs. 8 to be exact. These springs work with your joints to alleviate stress while allowing your muscles to get the most out of the workout. This also means that no matter how strong you are, your spring resistance can change to match your strength. Meaning, the machine always wins.
Hi I'm Jen Pyne, and I'm the founder of Modern Pilates! I have always been passionate about health and fitness, playing competitive sports from a young age. Taking my soccer career to the next level, I went on to play at Kutztown University where I majored in Sports Science. Following my college career, I was determined to find a workout with the same level of intensity as a college training program but with less impact on my body.

This place is awesome! Everything from the vibe to the workout itself is perfect. The studio is beautiful! I think I’m in relatively good shape but this workout was so challenging. You get a great sweat in and the instructor for my class (the owner), was great also! Prepare for some very gratifying soreness. Being my first class ever, she gave a lot of direction and helped with any necessary adjustments or modifications. There’s public parking in the back which is amazing so you never have to worry about being late to class trying to find a place to park! I will surely be back every time I

This studio is amazing, from the atmosphere being so welcoming to the instructors because so friendly, awesome and helpful! This 50 minute workout class gives me the full body workout that works every part of my body! It’s my new favorite workout class! I love this place, everyone should go and get there sweat in!!!

I’ve taken three classes with instructor Megan at Modern Pilates and felt great afterwards! This was my first time trying xformer Pilates and the instructor did a great job at breaking down the moves for me and keeping the entire class motivated. The studio itself is really nicely decorated and feels like a boutique workout studio from a big city.

Absolutely amazing. Megan is a great teacher who makes sure the music is upbeat and she watches thoroughly to make sure you are properly doing the exercise. Met the owner there and she was super sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The studio itself is simple and pretty and they have a nice selection of products.
