Baxter Creek Veterinary Clinic is a small animal hospital conveniently located in the heart of Bozeman. Drs. Spencer Anderson, Jessica Bienapfl, Miles Arakaki and Palmer Poutre are licensed and accredited veterinarians who know your pets are family. We take pride in our ability to work closely with our clients and form a health plan while utilizing the latest in diagnostic and treatment protocols.
We also value our desire to be practical about the care we recommend, and help clients make an informed decision about the type of care they desire for their animals. We offer wellness check-ups, vaccinations, dental care, acupuncture, an in-house laboratory, as well as drop-off appointments, and surgery.

Services
Shanna came to Baxter Creek Vet in June of 2013. She is originally from Kent, Ohio. She started working in the veterinary field as an assistant in 2000 and earned her degree in Veterinary Technology in 2006. During her college years, Shanna worked summers in Yellowstone National Park and discovered a great love of this area and decided to work towards moving here permanently.
We provide preventive care for all ages and life stages of animals. Routine examinations and proactive preventive care can enhance quality of life and help avoid illness and injury. We offer tailored vaccine protocols for canine and feline patients. Our goal is to administer vaccinations at the lowest frequency, while providing adequate protection against infectious diseases.
Traditional western medicine can be augmented by incorporating alternative treatment methods. Acupuncture can provide wonderful care for various neurological, orthopedic, and metabolic conditions. Dr. Anderson and Dr. Bienapfl are certified in Veterinary Acupuncture (CVA). Nutritional, lifestyle, and natural care options can be provided for patients in which traditional care is not pursued.
Dr. Anderson has extensive experience, through active military service, in caring for working canines. Lameness evaluation, sports medicine, and performance optimization for working and sporting breeds are special areas of interest at our clinic. Post-surgical therapies are crucial to the success of most orthopedic surgeries.
An important component of veterinary care is being able to provide compassionate and sound options for sick or aging patients. Humane euthanasia is a gentle option for animals where quality of life is no longer attainable. Our euthanasia protocols are peaceful and gentle. We provide euthanasia services in our clinic or through our house-call services for established clients.

I was fortunate to find Dr. Anderson (at Faithful Friends) when I moved to Bozeman almost 16 years ago. We have never gone anywhere else in that time and have had 2 cats and 3 dogs, in all stages of life, seen at Baxter Creek. We love them! Minor mishaps, cancer diagnosis’s, acupuncture, surgery, euthanasia, routine vaccines…we have had it all done there. I trust them implicitly and feel so lucky to have my animals in their care.

We love Dr. Palmer! She is straight forward, kind and doesn’t push anything that you’re not comfortable with. My (usually picky/shy) dog likes her and she always takes care of him super well. Definitely would recommend Dr. Palmer and the staff at Baxter Creek!

I have been going to Baxter Creek for quite awhile now. Over the years they have taken care of my "babies" with care, compassion, knowledge, and treated me with utmost respect. This starts from the time you walk in the door , to the time you walk out. I've never felt "crazy" for calling them with questions, or bringing in the dogs/cat for what might be called a small issue. They never pushed treatments, or tests, but have discussed things in a manner that I understand and can make a competent decision on. I love going there, and will continue to for MANY years to come. I STONGLY RECOMMEND THEM

I was looking for a more reasonably priced veterinarian closer to my apartment and I happened across Baxter Creek Veterinarian. I made an appointment and was able to obtain a very quick appointment date, which… was important to me. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and helpful! I then took Gracie Mae into the examination room. The Veterinarian and his assistant were exceptionally thorough and had wonderful bedside manner with my one-eyed kitty. Gracie received her yearly shots and the staff was very gentle with her. I’m disabled and walk with a walker. It was difficult for me

They are a great clinic, loved Dr. Harris, she was very thorough and good with my new little puppies. Also told me some information on Chi puppies that I didn't know. Front desk staff is awesome and very attentive and very welcoming. Waiting and reception and exam rooms are spotless and well decorated.

We've been with Baxter Creek through some tough times and some great times. The staff and all of the doctors have been truly outstanding. Each doctor (Dr. Anderson, Dr. Pearson, Dr. Bienapfl, Dr. Arakaki, and Dr. Palmer) has worked with our animals and each has been great in different ways. Bozeman is a better place with these doctors caring for its pets.

It’s very easy to schedule appointments, and the staff and veterinarians I’ve encountered over the past 3 years have been wonderful to my dog. I’m also grateful for the after hours emergency hotline and Dr. B’s assistance when we had an incident last year. I live in Gardiner, and there are closer vets, but you gotta stick with the good ones when you find them.
