Hi, my name is Emily! Taking photos makes me come alive. I've been doing photography for 15 years, and my love for it continues to grow. Life is so beautiful and in a moment: the emotions, the environment, the loved ones around you, should be caught in a way that inspires joy, and can be cherished forever.
Being a Big Island Hawaii photographer never gets old to me, it only gets more exciting. Every single story + relationship is so unique and a completely different experience from start to finish. My job is to document the bond and love within a couple or family and when captured through pictures, it is a remarkable and powerful thing that you will get to cherish for a lifetime.
One of the things I look forward to most in a family session is discovering the fun and uniqueness of each family. These sessions are dynamic and full because I want to capture every characteristic that makes your family, yours. This job never gets old, it only gets more exciting! Every single story contains a completely different experience from start to finish.
Being a part of this memorable day in people's lives is such an honor that I take seriously and to heart. I remember how every little detail of my wedding day meant the world to me. So much time and energy goes into planning this day and I want to make sure nothing is left out. Everything from the intimacy between the bride and groom, all the way down to the details of the ring, it's all important.

Emily is an amazing photographer. Anyone can take a photo, but Emily has an eye for details and can truly capture the moment in a meaningful way. She was so fun to work with! She's very patient and great at communicating before and during the photo session. The online gallery she sends the photos in is very user-friendly and easy to download. She is worth every penny! I'm so glad we captured one of the most important days of our lives with her--now we will remember it forever.

Extremely Late Review but I wanted everyone to know how wonderful Emily was on my wedding day. My husband and I were married on the Big Island on July 21. From the first phone call with Emily, I knew she was going to be my photographer. She was extremely sweet and knowledgeable. On my wedding day, she helped move photos along and corral my crazy bridal party and family. She is the sweetest and kindest person that you will ever meet. I cannot say enough nice things about her. She sent our photos to us much faster than expected. I love each and every photo that she sent. She has such an eye for background

We had the trip of a lifetime to the Big Island with our 4 grown children, their spouses and 13 grandkids for a total of 23 of us. We only knew we wanted to find a photographer that was willing and able to capture our time together!!! We were so fortunate to find Emily. She exceeded all our expectations. She was friendly, relaxed, confident and professional. She was enthusiastic and her fun, positive spirit made all of us relax and enjoy it!!! We booked Emily Lehnert photography about a week before our honeymoon to the Big Island. This was a last minute decision we made, and knew it was a long shot we would find anyone free. Not only was Emily free, she was extremely responsive and we were booked within two days of contact. Cannot rave enough about Emily! She did a wonderful job capturing all the emotions of our big day and was great at posing us. We got married at the Old Airport Beach and she really went out of her way to get… the perfect shot; even including gettin waist deep into the water with both of her cameras! Despite our ceremony starting late, Emily worked quickly to ensure we didn’t lose any of the light of the day. All of our photos turned out better than expected and had a very quick turnover time. Would highly recommend!

We truly enjoyed having Emily shoot our wedding! I got married 7 months pregnant and she made everything so smooth and easy for me. My photos are gorgeous. She was fast, professional and managed to get all the shots I requested, plus more. I really appreciated how patient and kind she was through the whole process. I could not of asked for a better photographer. 10/10 would recommend

We recently visited Kona and thought it would be a fun opportunity to have unique family photos taken. Emily was referred to me by our VRBO host and she continuously impressed me with her communication,… professionalism and creativity. I loved that she sent me three different (all gorgeous) options for our shoot to ensure it was reflective of exactly what I had in mind. Our photos were ready much more quickly than I expected and they are insanely gorgeous. If you are even kind of considering having photos taken, I can guarantee you will not regret hiring Emily!

She's is an amazing photographer and a wonderful person. She was very friendly, engaging and helpful during my wedding. I enjoyed that I got to talk to her before the wedding, it made me feel comfortable with my choice of photographer & glad to see her personality was friendly & bubbly.
Day of the wedding she was so helpful when my veil fell off. Shes great with giving directions for the photo session.

We planned our wedding during the COVID pandemic and at the time we did not know if we would be able to travel to the island for our wedding date. I contacted several photographers who required down payments that would NOT be refunded if the island was not open to visitors. Emily was the ONLY photographer who guaranteed a refund of our deposit.
