Bikini Birdie is a team effort made up of photographer Megan Spelman and illustrator Vicent Poquet. Currently splitting time between the Big Island of Hawaii and Valencia, Spain, Megan and Vicent met in Guatemala a few years back and have been sharing a creative vision ever since. Megan has a documentary photography background starting at newspapers throughout the US before taking on photographing for NGOs, music, and weddings.
Vicent has years of experience working in his native Spain in graphic design and diverse creative projects. We both believe that wedding paper and photography should not have to be boring, in fact it should be beautiful art, timeless, and a reflection of the beauty of you and your loved ones. We love to be a part of family celebrations and think they deserve to be documented well.

I photographed Sara and her lovely family last year and again this fall on her family's lovely farm in the mountains of Alicante. I will be in Spain again in the summer of 2016 and if you would like to schedule a family session please contact me and let's talk!

We are back on the Big Island of Hawai'i for the rest of the year. I am looking forward to weddings, family, and lifestyle sessions in the coming weeks and months. Here is a the sky from a recent wedding with Vintage & Lace at Kikaua Point on the Kona Coast. What a special rainbow for a destination wedding in Hawaii!
Jaime and Erik had me over to the beautiful Big Island property where they live just above Kona with the most amazing garden. I really hope they have me back to photograph their new baby and tour around the plants a bit more. These two are so excited to bring a new life into the world and it was a pleasure to photograph them in this beautiful time in a family's story.
