Shana J. Black was admitted to the California bar in 2000. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her Juris Doctorate from University of San Diego School of Law in 2000, cum laude. She was a member of the San Diego Law Review, serving with distinction, and a Merit Scholarship Recipient at the University of San Diego School of Law from 1997 to 2000.

Potential clients, beware. Read unrecommended reviews, before hiring Shana Black. I made the mistake of looking at her 5* reviews, instead of checking out reviews that are not recommended. Shana is extremely difficult/impossible to get ahold of. She is extremely disorganized, & will wait until the last minute to get things done for court. You can call/text/e-mail an endless amount of times, & she will still be unresponsive, unless there is a sudden deadline she must meet, then it's an emergency to get everything done. She was disorganized for my court hearing, & did not have everything

Did not meet expectations dealing with child support and visitation that we were trying to change. Did not come prepared to court. Was not responsive when called and would only take text messages with delay on reply as well. Once court was done, did not help prepare paperwork for judge to sign, my ex spouse’s lawyer had to draft up the paperwork. Not even a call after court was done.

I just want to say that I should have posted this almost 4 years ago. First meeting went well. She seemed engaged and attentive. However, she did not come through when it came to my husbands Quadro (my husband was the one dealing with his company and trying to figure out numbers in regards to his Quadro) and lowering his alimony. She did not respond in a timely manner. Extremely hard to get a hold off. The only reason we hired her was because of the good reviews we read. Big mistake. Maybe she's a hit and missed. Good luck.

I just completed some work with this attorney and found her to be very on time and kept me in the loop continually.
My then ex was living in San Diego and it was nice to not have to fly there even once to take care of anything.
