At Ellicott City Sew-Vac we are proud to repair ALL BRANDS of sewing machines and vacuums. We give free estimates, and turnaround time is generally just a couple of days for most repairs. We do all our own service, in house so there is no need for lengthy waits! Our mechanics are highly trained and very experienced.

Payment must be received at time of registration. Cancel 7 days before class and you will be issued a store credit. There will be no refunds or credit for cancellations less than 7 days before class. If we have to cancel a class, we will reschedule the class when possible or refund the fee. You will receive a 20% discount on all items purchased here for a class.

I have owned a Riccar vacuum for 13 years. Purchased from another store that since went out of business, I took my vacuum to EC Sew Vac for repairs a couple years ago. Since then, I take it in for annual servicing.
At the end of last year, my vacuum wasn't working well. I followed the manual, but nothing helped.
I took the vacuum to EC Sew-Vac. When ready, I picked it up on Saturday, and tried the vacuum on Sunday; the rug roller light was lit and wouldn't vacuum on rug or floor. I emailed the store Sunday

I took my Kirby vacuum in for repair. I told the repairman U thought it was the belt since it smelled like burning rubber. He took a quick look at it and said he would call me by Monday with an estimate and permission to complete the repairs. Well this was Friday afternoon. A couple of hours later he called and said it was the belt and gave me the price and said if I would like him to precede that my vac would be ready for pick up on Saturday Less then 24 hours! Now, that's service! I'm very pleased with the customer service and the speedy and efficient repair. This is my new go to

I was helped the moment I walked in. The guy helping me was super knowledgeable about sewing machines and was able to offer multiple recommendations based on my level and needs. This company has an outstanding sewing machine repairman. He has fixed 4 vintage Pfaffs for me (360, 1209, 1222e, and 1471), all of which had serious repair issues. The costs were entirely reasonable. These old Pfaffs are great machines but they're very persnickety and it's hard to find a repairman with the skills to fix them. I feel very lucky to have found this excellent company.

Very nice quilting and repair shop. I picked up my and my grammas sewing machines and the gentleman who rang me up was kind enough to take both to my vehicle for me. The price for repairs was very reasonable.
After i picked up the repaired machines i wandered the quilt shop side. They had a nice variety of cotton in beautiful colors and patterns. Staff are very helpful and know the stock very well.
All in all, i'm very happy with my experience today and will definitely be using them for future repairs.

Very honest. I'd used them once before and had been happy with the repair results. This time after looking at my sewing machine, They called to tell me the problem was all about how I'd loaded the needle, foot, etc. No repair was needed and there was no charge, even though I offered to compensate for time spent. Very good experience. Also didn't have to risk going inside during COVID--called from outside and machine was picked up, later returned same way.

I have had a Bernina sewing machine for over 20 years and never had a problem. Sunday it stops working, I send an email to this shop hoping to get it fixed. To my surprise, I got a response the same day. Before I was able to take it our Governor issue a state home order Monday at 8 pm. Most people would not have been concerned about a sewing machine. For me is my stress reliever. Sew and Vac usually staff provided excellent service and was able to get it back by that afternoon.

Top notch service ! I was impressed to see the employees knew so much about their products. This was only my second visit in but I will be back for sure ! What a rotten experience! I don't post many online reviews but this left me so annoyed that I have to share.
I walked in this afternoon to buy some bags for my vacuum. It was a bit cluttered, and I only saw the service guy working back in his back room. The sound of an air compressor running made me think he didn't hear me come in, so I walked along the wall where all the vacuum bags are hanging, scanning for the ones I needed.
I spotted it and was about to reach my arm out to get a box off the wall when a woman announced herself very loudly right behind me - perhaps she greeted me earlier
