Seems the cat's out of the bag. We are so very sad to say we are closing our doors. There wasn't enough time to reach out to all of you as the heart rendering decision became inevitable only recently. It is much too difficult to say good bye to all the cherished and loyal friends we've made on our journey.

Your support, devotion and kindness over the past fourteen years is so deeply appreciated. Although we survived the worst of the pandemic, the repercussions continue to plague our industry, it has become impossible to operate as we once did. The extraordinary shortage of staff continues to be a struggle.
Services
Introduced to dining and mentored in the business of restaurants by their late father Paul Wimmer, the three sisters have spent most of their adult lives working in various roles in restaurants on both the east and west coasts. Each woman possesses a love of great dining, knowledge of food and food service and the desire to combine terrific food and wine in a comfy, cool and fun atmosphere.
Travel north on route 495, exiting at #53 (Broad Street Merrimac/Merrimacport). Turn left off the exit, drive.5 miles to stop sign at route 110. Turn left (west) on route 110, proceed.1 miles and turn left between Town Hall and Richdale onto School Street. Rhythm Cafe is on your left, immediately past the Town hall building.

We have been loyal customers of this restaurant since they opened. Always loved loved the food! Unfortunately the disgusting attitude of Sharon (owner) has worn us out. It's never been a friendly place, which is sad because Merrimac could use an environment where we could go to and see our neighbors and really have that family feel. Many times ( too many to count) we are hit in the face with the grouchy, tired, evidently over worked owner that makes you feel so uncomfortable that I cringe each time I walk in. You would think where we frequent this place there would be some hint of "

To the lady Allison that left the really bad review, you later went to the restaurant after calling and HARASSED the manager. Said manager couldn't hear you over the phone because every time she gets a call it beeps in her ear. Obviously you were the one getting frustrated and acted like a total Karen.

This restaurant has the most amazing food and service. I will always support this restaurant and it's food, it is the best restaurant locally and I highly suggest going to it if you are looking for a restaurant to try.

I am so disappointed in the experience I had here. I grew up in the town next door and my husband and I moved to the area a few years back. In an effort to support local businesses in our new town as well as the surrounding towns, we order take out once a week. When I called to ask questions about the menu because I have a dairy allergy, the woman on the phone became very frustrated with me instantly. In the middle of my second question about an item she interrupted me and told me she needed to take another call. When she came back she said, "Do you have any more questions or are you going

The food was a little on the greasy side, but I thought it tasted fine. The menu has a good selection of Greek-American. I'd go back to try more things. The AC doesn't work well. I don't recommend coming here on a warm day.

Most unfriendly and rude owners ever! Eating here is uncomfortable. The owners have bad attitudes. Don't expect a smile. It's like they can't wait to get you out. Why work in the SERVICE industry when you dislike people so much? The food is better than 1 star but the dread it fills me with to sit down in there just isn't worth it.

We will NEVER eat here again!!!

We have been eating at Rhythm since they opened their doors and tonight is the last time we will ever spend our money in this establishment.

Through the years we have witnessed:

*Temper-tantrums between the sisters

*Harsh words and treatment to staff (we dine out and have spoken with former staff who have served us in other establishments)... Just cringed at what we heard..

* Really slow service

* Small portions, 8 to 10 carots or green beans with a meal and a scant amount of rice... Um rice and carrots are cheap as hell, just saying!

Through it all we said

Living in Merrimac, there are only a few choices for a decent lunch or dinner. Rythm cafe , and Osaka (just opened in 2015). I've been going to Rhythm for years putting up with sub par service for good food and convenience. Although, I just can't take it any more. The rude behavior of kat (the owner) and the other sister, to customers is just not worth spending 3k per year there. My recommendation would be to stay away, go to crave in Amesbury, or Osaka in merrimac.
Hint to the owners of Rhythm, get out of a customer service oriented business ! You've lost more customers

Much like others, food is excellent, service is subpar. First few times I tossed it out as just a bad day, but it's like that all the time.

Won't stop me from ordering takeout! Chopped salad is still awesome.

Overpriced, mediocre food and tacky atmosphere make this one of our least favorite places we've eaten in the area. Merrimac has very little to offer for dining, so it's disappointing that what is in town isn't very good. We've tried eating here a few times to give the benefit of the doubt, but the food was consistently weak and too pricey, by far, for the quality. Service was slow and inconsistent, wait staff isn't friendly and doesn't pay attention to customers' needs.

LEGIT the chicken cous cous salad is the most delicious salad ever.

I get it probably once a week. Also the driveup window is a major plus!!! Please don't ever get rid of it!!!

The food is good but the service is terrible. One of the owners has a bad attitude and actually rolled her eyes after I ordered something plain. I have to because I have cystitis and am on a strict diet. Any other restaurant has been so kind and accommodating. Won't go again.

Great value, had a Greek salad and it was packed with Feta and chicken. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area next!

The sandwiches at Rhythm are the best value on the menu. I find the main courses to be overpriced and not worth the $18 that they charge for a boxed pasta dish. If you eat here and you want to be timely, order out because the service is very very slow.

Best restaurant around! Better than any restaurant in Newburyport. Food is amazing, atmosphere is relaxing.

Everything on the menu is great especially the cider chicken, Mexican dip, chop salad.

I've only got one thing I didn't care for which was some sort of soup but everything else has been top notch

I'm done with this place. The food is great but the customer service is awful.

I live across the street and am in their fairly regularly and I know that two of the owners recognize me by site. I have put up with the inconsistent service for a while because I want to support a local business. But tonight was the last straw.

I ordered take out and walked over to pick it up. One of the owners was at the register. She smiled and told me the other owner (her sister) would help me shortly. I could see my food sitting on the counter ready to go but I figured I could wait a few.

Five minutes later

This small restaurant in Merrimac center puts out consistently good food. The grilled honey salmon with rice and asparagus is a favorite. Service can be hit or miss. Always friendly, but occasionally slow or inattentive. There are probably about 10-12 tables, and as many counter seats in front of the open kitchen.
Tip: It's easy to get a table on a weekday, but consider making reservations for Friday or Saturday night. There's really no good place to sit or stand if you're waiting for a table.
