Environmental Realists
Environmental Realists is one of the original specialty shops of Sedona's Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village which opened in the early '70's. The work of over 120 craftspeople and artisans is represented in fun and unusual ways in antique display cases that feature an assortment of old tools and artifacts serving to enhance the handcrafted products that we offer.

If you have visited the shop, chances are you will remember the old oak display cases and assortment of antiques that give it its warm and quirky ambience. Environmental Realists is well known for our friendly and knowledgeable staff; we value our customers and try to go beyond the norm to assist each visitor.

The art here is beautiful. Almost everything is crafted by a local Arizona artist, and done so exquisitely. Rhonda helped greeted us upon entering the store immediately and established a calm atmosphere while helping us look at items. She directed our needs, and within 15 minutes we walked out of the store with the perfect turquoise bowl!

What an odd name, you might be thinking, for a gallery in Sedona....or for that matter anywhere. Hahaha....if you knew that it opened at the height of the Hippie movement back in the early 1970's, perhaps you understand a bit better. Had you seen Tlaquepaque in the earliest of its years, with artists living and creating in the workshops upstairs while their gallery were selling downstairs, you'd also gather that some pretty different sort of folks founded this unique plaza. The folks who opened Environmental Realists were some of those early settlers from the 70's who read The Whole Earth Catalog
