Beginning as a local shipbuilding yard, then dockage for the ivory being delivered to local piano factories, Deep River Landing has a long history as a center of activity. Constructed in 1875, the building that came to house "The Lace Factory" with its landmark chimney has become an integral part of the picturesque location at the edge of the Connecticut River.
Now, the Deep River Landing offers a gazebo park with picnic area and boat launch. Kayakers, boaters, fishermen, jet skiers and hunters alike gather throughout the year for direct access to the river. It is home port to the Becky Thatcher Riverboat. An over the water viewing deck offers the opportunity to see eagles soaring on a crisp clear day or to fish just about any time.

Services
Over the years wedding couples have used their creativity to decorate our venue to suit their tastes. We have seen beautiful simplistic arrangements to ultra elegant, over-the-top formal. There is a bridal (or) bachelor suite on-site and The Riverview Room is a great place for either a rehearsal dinner or the morning after brunch.

We just had our wedding on October 1st at The Lace Factory and our guests have not stopped raving about The Lace Factory. The Lace Factory stands out the most because of the beautiful and unique venue, their kind and attentive staff, and the amazing food!

Lovely place to hold a shower. Attentive staff, delicious food, beautiful views of the river front and train station. The grounds are full of gorgeous natural landscaping, the kind pollinators love. I could have stayed out there all day. And the chickens! I loved this place! I'm not posting many photos from our baby shower for privacy reasons, but trust me, the inside is beautiful too.

My now husband and I got married at the Lace Factory recently and I can honestly say it was better than my dreams. It was over 100 degrees that day and we made the last minute decision to change our ceremony inside and it was truly magic. Our backup plan ended up being even more beautiful than our original. The food, the space, the staff, everything was perfection. Our guests haven’t stopped talking about it and we’ve even heard from several people it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to😋. If you are looking for a beautiful, unique, romantic venue with AWESOME staff, absolutely book with The Lace Factory. Christine and her team were amazingly patient, understanding and supportive in the YEARS that we worked with them - through planning and then replanning our wedding due to covid. I used the word perfect more on the day of my wedding… than any other time in my life, and that is due to the effort Christine and her team put into pulling off our vision and making sure everything ran smoothly. Christine was an absolute pleasure to work - she is funny, easy going and understanding

Spectacularly beautiful location right on the CT River. Photo ops are endless with not only the venue itself but the gardens, the river, the steam train...and countless others. Andrea is amazing at what she does - her attention to detail is impeccable, she's incredibly attentive to your needs and makes all wedding (as well as other event) details super-easy. I honestly cannot think of a more perfect destination than The Lace Factory in Deep River, CT for your event.

It seems like the days of the Sunday brunch buffet is gone along the ways of the VCR. But not at the Lace Factory! The setting and ambiance are superb being across the street from the Essex Steam Train Depot, and the factory building still has much of the original fixtures.
The service is the best I've ever experienced in any eating establishment, with three people catering to you, and bringing you delicious tidbits while you're dining.
The only qualm I have is it needs more variety of choices. I suggest more ingredients for the omelets, perhaps a choice of meats at the carving station

Fabulous brunch buffet in a beautiful setting featuring stunning patio views of the river, steam train, and boats, all to the tune of wonderful, friendly service. Omelettes made to order with a variety of fresh ingredients, lots of other goodies to pick from, and random small bites issued without warning from the kitchen. Well worth a drive.

We went back this weekend to their Riverview Room for brunch, and just as I expected, it was AMAZING! Every detail - the food, decor, the staff, is top notch.
Everything is homemade - and it is awesome. It's not your basic, typical brunch, everything has an artistic spin on it. Most places that do brunch outsource for desserts and breads....not Cloud Nine.

I planned our wedding from Canada and a bit from California too and everyone at The Lace Factory was so accommodating during the whole thing. They happily communicated with me over email for months. Although I was in town for my initial walk through, I couldn't be there for my final details meeting. They allowed my sister to go in my place with me on Skype and they totally understood my vision for the whole day.

WOW! Our daughter recently had her wedding reception at this venue. The Lace Factory along with Wild Orchid Florists, Middletown turned the room into a spectacular, romantic and breathtaking fairyland of candles and lights. Our guests were well and truly wowed!

We came back to the lace factory for our one year anniversary for brunch that they now offer. We were really excited as we LOVE this venue. The owner, who we planned our wedding with, didn't acknowledge us. The wait staff didn't even tell us what was offered and barely came over to our table. As we sat there we watched all of the tables being served the specials that were not brought to us and we heard the waitress explaining the variety of offerings. Inexperienced staff. What a way to spend our 1 year anniversary. So disappointed.

I loved working with Andrea and Cloud Nine Catering. They have a very down to earth feel and their personalities very well meshed with mine and my husband's. Above all, the food was delicious and we got a lot of good feedback about it at the wedding. Everyone said something along the lines of... "You know wedding food is just wedding food but the food here is great!" This company is so accommodating to the bride and groom. Went above my expectations.

I was sure that I would have my wedding reception at The Lace Factory based on the photos and positive reviews I'd read from other brides. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking. The biggest downfall about the venue is the parking - there are only 42 spaces. During peak season, brides can hire the Essex Steam Train to bring guests to The Lace Factory for an additional cost ~$1,500. This is a great option if you have the money to spend, however the train does not run during the month I was hoping to have my wedding, so the parking was really an issue for us.
