In the summer of 2010 I started working at The Riverhouse as the Assistant Banquet Manager. Coming from the Saybrook Point Inn's restaurant I was eager to learn a new side of the industry. I studied at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida where I specialized in Hotel, Resort & Restaurant Management with a minor in Marketing.

From the very beginning of the process, Hattie and Kelley were amazing - they responded to every email and silly question within the same day and always let me know if they needed something from me to keep us on track.

The PERFECT wedding venue! We had the most amazing experience at the Riverhouse and couldn't be happier! From the first time we stepped into the venue, we knew it was the place for us. From the decor, to the set up, the view off the back deck, the bridal suite, grooms room and most importantly 1 wedding at a time! It was everything we had wanted and so much more!
The communication throughout the entire process was smooth and very responsive. Hattie and Kelley were amazing to work with and got back to me within 1 day.
And then COVID hit and we were the very first wedding to be canceled. I mean

What a amazing venue. It was a beautiful place for a Connecticut Wedding. I truly hope we are invited to another function here. Every aspect of The River House is simply exquisite. The food was amazing, the service even better, but nothing beats the ambiance of this place. And, the water views are spectacular.

If they are willing to neglect past customers and folks that attend your wedding like this I'm not confident you can trust them to take care of you, and all your needs on your biggest day. Communication and responsiveness has been poor.
I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt however, it has now been 6+ weeks of calling regarding a left behind jacket after a wedding. I was told three days after the wedding they had the jacket. I asked if they could email me details for possible shipping as I was with a client…. No email received

When my husband and I first toured the Riverhouse, the second we walked into the parking lot we both looked at each other and said "I want to get married here". Hattie was so friendly, and the idea that we would be the only wedding that evening made the experience much more personable.
When the wedding planning began, Hattie and Kelley were so accommodating. They answered all of my questions, replied to all of my emails quickly, and made the planning very organized. There was a timeline for everything, so I always knew what the next steps were.

The Riverhouse did such an amazing job! I highly recommend them to any bride planning their dream wedding. Thank you to everyone at The Riverhouse for making our wedding truly magical. Nice place for an event. Only one event at a time is handled. Bathrooms were clean, food was acceptable and drinks were as well. Large parking lot with a covered entrance. Has an exterior deck adjacent to the dining area. You can get a glimpse of the river from the deck. Only issue i had was they started clearing/cleaning up the event 0:45 minutes before the scheduled end. Seemed like we were being rushed out.

While searching for venues The Riverhouse was the last location we visited. Upon walking through the doors we instantly knew this was where we wanted to hold our wedding. The location was stunning and every employee we interacted with was just a pleasure. Our planning process couldn’t have gone any smoother with the help of Kelley. She was so organized and answered every question we had quickly! We also owe a lot of the success of our wedding night to Sarah (our event coordinator) and Michele (our bridal attendant). They were both so attentive and made sure we and our families had everything
