We came in April to buy our toddler her first sneakers. The salesperson talked us into purchasing summer sandals at the same time- I said I was worried it was too early in the season and that she’d she’d outgrow them by end of summer. The salesperson told me he would guarantee they’d fit through end of summer and if not to bring them back and they’d exchange them at no cost. We came back today because she’s a full size bigger now than when we bought the sandals, and were told the store policy is 90 days for exchange, not the entire summer as promised. Feeling swindled, and taking our

We had a great experience at Jay's Shoe Box. Zach helped us by sizing our 1 year old and 3 year old and giving recommendations about what type of shoes work best on their feet. He brought out a lot of excellent options. Thank you Zach at Jay's Shoe Box!!!

I remember going to Mr. Jay when I was a kid growing up in Livingston. And bringing our three children to get their shoes there as well. Now, as a Grandma...getting our Grandson's first pair of shoes from Jay's. Each and every time, over all these years, was a great experience. And knowing Mr. Jay and his wife, their sons, was a pleasure. I'd like to compliment. Sean. After going in person to get my Grandson's 1st shoes, Sean helped me, with knowledge and experience, to select a great pair of 2nd shoes. He mailed them to my home and I'm really happy with the selection

Tried to go in and buy some running shoes but the owner kept talking about how fast he runs. He also got upset when I brushed by a bush outside the store accusing me of yanking it out of the ground many times. "My buuuussshh" he cried. He then transformed into a 50ft megazord in the shape of a shoe and proceeded to rampage on the poor town of Livingston nj. All hope was lost until suddenly a seemingly mild mannered teen on a skateboard appeared but he transformed too! It was non other than skater boi the legendary hero. With one swoop of his skateboard he pulled the bush out of the

This was my first experience with them and I won’t shop anywhere else for my kids’ shoes now. We right at store opening and Emily helped us. Notable is her invaluable experience in dealing with children (finding size, asking to right questions, etc) and her impressive knowledge of their products. She helped ensure we were buying the right shoes for our needs and the right fit. My kids can’t tell if something is too big/wide but she could! Add in their awesome exchange policy and I’m a customer for life. To totally overflow my positive experience, I was super impressed with their COVID setup

Shoes are extremely overpriced, manager is as rude as it gets. Just go to any other shoe store and you'll find a better deal. Also, his bushes are kinda beat up, not easy on the eye.

Prices are extremely overpriced. The manager was as rude as can be to me and my kids. And the outside of that business looked atrocious. Dirt all over the sidewalk, bushes pulled out. I think I saw a skateboard somewhere on the sidewalk as well

We took our 11-month-old son for his first pair of shoes. The employee who helped us was very knowledgeable and patient. He measured his foot and helped him try on a few pairs of shoes. He obviously has a lot of experience with kids. Definitely recommend Jay's for your little ones' shoes!

First and last visit!!! I wish I had checked the reviews before purchasing and returning my grandsons shoes. Thankfully I found a store closer to home that had a selection in my grandson’s size (correct width) plus I saved $15.00 too!

Really helpful to get first sneakers for our baby boy. The owner was really friendly and sooo helpful. It’s pricey (but it’s the brand, it’s so popular and for so little material they ask so much money). I was glad we went there, got the right size and the type of sneaker that baby/toddler should have for its right foot development)

I love this place! The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable. If you hit it at the right time you won't even have to wait either - which is bonus when you have small children! Pricing is comparable to similar typed stores only you get better service here. The selection isn't as extensive for boys however they have a large enough selection that you will find something. Would highly recommend this place for children's shoes.

The very best in selection and service. Competitive pricing. Good, old fashioned customer service - they measure kids' feet! Family owned forever, shopped here over 50 years ago, and Jay's is top fashion. Love Jay's Shoe Box.

Great service! I took my 11 month old daughter in since she just started walking and didn't know where to start with shoes. The very nice salesman measured her and brought us a bunch of options to choose from. They didn't seem to mind when my daughter had a little meltdown either. It was a rainy Saturday and was busy, but we got helped right away.

A little bit of a markup on the prices of everything. However, you won't find more personal friendly attention at a children's shoe store.
Very well organized with a deli-style number system.

While you might find better prices elsewhere, you simply won't find a better more patient and helpful staff than you will at Jay's.

Shopping for children's shoes on your own is difficult. At Jay's it's a pleasure.

It can get a little nuts on the weekends and at peak times. Children running rampant everywhere.

Jay runs real fast, I can only assume that his shoes contribute to that fact. Also he really likes it when you touch his bush.

Ever since my daughter was a toddler, this has been our, "Go To" store for her shoes, sneakers, and boots.
It's usually VERY busy on the weekends but they have a very good system to deal with that. You take a number when you enter like you would at a deli and simply wait until your number is called. It definitely avoids confusion when it's busy.
Service is always prompt, friendly, and courteous.

I went into Jay's today to find sandals for my daughter. They store is beautiful, clean, inviting, friendly and just about every child's shoe you could possibly be looking for. The service was attentive, but not overbearing and pushy. He did not have the exact shoe in my daughter's size, however, he brought me what he did have as alternative. Which i found even better! The Owner also told me they are opening a location in Denville which is close to my home as well! I will gladly shop here for all of my daughter's shoes. You just don't get that kind of service when

Not until I moved to New Jersey had I ever seen a PLEASE TAKE A NUMBER sign on the front door of a shoe store. Don't let it scare you away! Inside you will find the nicest, most human staff members I've ever met in a shoe store. They've seen it all, so if your little one is a little rambunctious, or a little scared to step on the measurement thingy, etc., it won't phase them. I once got a pair of shoes that ripped within a month (not their fault, it's not like they're in the back room stitching the Nike's together), so I took them in and they sent the shoes next

May be a little more expensive than the big-box-chain stores...but when I was buying shoes for my children, it brought me back to my own childhood where staff actually measured and fit you for the proper shoe.

In a world where barcodes and touch sceens have replaced actual PEOPLE and service...I will be back for as long as my kids can stay in the sizes they carry (should be for a long time to come).
