Volunteers In Health
Many of our patients speak Spanish and we are looking for Volunteer Spanish Interpreters. If you are fluent in English and Spanish and have time to donate to the Parker Family Health Center, we would love to hear from you. We welcome any inquiries from medical professionals, active or retired, who have an interest in volunteering at our clinic. Do I need to carry Malpractice Insurance? No. The clinic covers all licensed independent practitioners under the Federal Tort Claims Act.

Red Bank, NJ, a small city of 12,000 located on the banks of the Navesink River in eastern Monmouth County, has long been home to a vibrant African-American neighborhood centered on the town's West Side. Among the best-loved West Siders were two extraordinary African-American physicians, father and son - Dr. James Parker Sr. and Dr. James Parker Jr. - who together served the Red Bank community for over 80 years.
The Parker Family Health Center (PFHC) provides free medical care for Monmouth County residents who meet certain requirements and who are without any medical insurance, including either Medicare or Medicaid. All of our support comes from generous donors, grants and fundraising events. The Parker Family Health Center is not a walk-in facility nor can it provide behavioral mental health services.
There are many ways to get involved and truth is, we need all of you and all your efforts. Here are some answers to the question "how can I help?" Remember the PFHC as the beneficiary of gifts in lieu of flowers in case of a loss of friend/loved one. Create a tribute gift in honor of a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other joyous milestone of a family member, friend or colleague.

The Parker Clinic is very good and its great that a place like this exists. The concept is incredible. 90% of the staff are above excellent in all ways. This type of clinic has specialists that are all volunteers and sometimes there could be long waits to see a specialist. The clinic works quite differently than a traditional family doctor's office and you have to get used to that. They have linkages to some other programs in the community like charity care and legal services. They help in some ways with getting meds for patients through assistance programs.
