Reyes, owner of Maleiny's Upholstery, has been in the business of reupholstering, furniture restoration, and hand-crafting high quality pieces for more than 25 years. Reyes dedicated several years to running an upholstery and design company, Ital Arts Design, in the Los Angeles area before opening his own business, Maleiny's Upholstery + Custom Furniture.
Maleiny's began operations more than 10 years ago, and has been serving the South Bay cities like Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes, Torrance, Gardena, and more as well as all of Southern California. Some of our upholstery customers are even down in San Diego. Reyes' high quality workmanship and standards sets him apart from other upholstery companies and regular furniture stores.

Great work. Attention to detail impeccable. Price great. But why the 1 star review? Because he is unprofessional asf. Doesn't communicate. Disappears. Always "sick". Confuses order. False promises on due dates. He picked up my couches and it took 4 months to deliver! He still has my chairs that he hasn't yet to complete and it's been about 10 months. Its just 2 chairs dude. Last I spoke to him was in 2nd week of December and he said my chairs would be ready "next week".

My wife purchased fabric from Elegant Interior Fabric at 509 1/2 E 9th St, LA 90015. Sam, the owner, recommended using his "guy" to reupholster our furniture and offered us a reasonable price. She agreed, made a $500 deposit and Mr Reyes of Maleiny's picked up our furniture on October 31st, 2020. We were promised a 3-week turn around, in time for Thanksgiving.

He was going to install grommits on some fabric
He was took 1 1/2 weeks longer than promised and did. A terrible job all the. grommits fell apart and he made me make various trips in order to give me back my fabric . If you value your peace and sanity and time this is not the place to bring your upholstery work

This guy has had my couches for over 2 months!! No updates, no call backs. I have requested photos over 10 times and never received any. As a business owner myself I don't know how he could not answer my calls. I expect communication and updates. Call me back, I need my couches back or I will file a complaint.

We recently had the chairs in our medical office reupholstered + was connected with Reyes through another vendor. Reyes was prompt in providing us sample books of fabrics swatches for us to look through (same day!). In total for 17 chairs, the entire process was about 2 weeks - such a fast turnaround. He even split the job for us so we weren't without chairs for our patients. The pricing is super fair for the quality work he provided + the fabric used is really great for what we need (daily usage by patients, spill proof + easy to clean). Would definitely recommend + use again.

After a very stressful and drawn out job, we have received the final chair to complete our order. Since the last review we have gone through the blender with Reyes. From emails, to texts, to phone calls, multiple missed deadlines and finally a certified mail letter being sent. This is obviously not a way to treat a client, and Reyes has a ways to go as far as customer service goes. I say this first because at it's core, it is a huge reason that I would even consider a business. So please keep this in mind after you hear what I have to say next.

We LOVE Maleiny's! Reyes does amazing work in upholstery and crafting furniture from scratch. He is a master craftsman. His work is out of this world. He has redone several pieces in our collection and we couldn't be happier. Our clients are always happy with that we have with upholstered furniture because of his skills. His prices are so much more reasonable compared to any others out there -- believe me I have researched this thoroughly.
