Our mission is to engage every client in active and collaborative treatment modalities and achieve an outcome of optimum mental well-being. We will achieve this mission through the provision of exceptionally personalized care and emphasis on preventative and recovery based therapies that promote healthy functional lifestyles.
Services
NorKris provides holistic, therapeutic and supportive mental health care services to adults, children and families in the state of Maryland, predominantly in Harford and Cecil counties. We are proud to share that we have served over 2000 clients through the provision of pharmacologic and talk therapy services.
It is with great pleasure that I write this to support the Cope training. I highly recommend the Cope training to young kids of all ages. The Cope training helped my son to understand and cope with different issues that he has come across. I am confident that this training will help your child. The Cope program is a good program.
Audrey Forka, CRNP is a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at the University of Maryland Harford Memorial Hospital. She is also a psychiatric provider for children, teens and families at Norkris, her practice in Havre de Grace, MD. Additionally, she serves as clinical Adjunct Preceptor to Nurse Practitioner students from Drexel University, University of Cincinnati, University of Delaware, Vandebilt & Walden Universities.
Mental health and wellness is dependent on multiple factors. Our providers recognize the brain connections, hormonal and gastro-intestinal factors required to maintain well-being. We will help you identify, diagnose and treat your specific condition(s) using scientifically validated screening and diagnostic tools.
The NorKris Foundation is the non-profit division of NorKris Services. The Foundation helps increase our ability to better serve the community and our clients by enabling us through Psychiatric Rehabilitation Programs to provide Health Education, Life Skills training and demonstrations of the benefits and use of additional modalities for healing, such as complementary adjuncts to pharmacologic and talk therapy.

Audrey Forka was always very busy, hard to get in touch with, and never seemed to genuinely care about my situation. She put me on multiple medications for a mental illness that I have not been diagnosed with, and has been repeatedly sending me bills for the past year even though I have not seen her for over a year and have payed for all of my visits. Would not recommend.

Very difficult to get in touch with anyone at times for an appointment. Call multiple times with no call back. Did not get records from previous provider who retired after being a patient for 15 years. From one appointment to the next they do not remember who you are or your situation. Getting prescriptions filled can be a problem too. Staff lacks in professionalism as well as critical thinking. Only two nurse practitioners and one therapist and no back up if someone is sick or vacationing. When I first went to their website they had many more providers listed. But they must have left. No MD on

Aminata Bangura, CRNP is the worst provider I have ever seen. She is not knowledgeable and wanted me to stop taking my medication without weening at 32 weeks pregnant, when the day before she said that I would have to ween. She gave up calling my other physicians office to discuss my care because the office was making her leave a message. Left me high and dry with no concern for me or my baby. DO NOT GO HERE!

I've had so many issues with getting my prescriptions from this place it's not even funny. They're literally impossible to get ahold of, for instance I've called multiple times a day (always leaving my name and phone number) and they never call back. The people who work there are nice but it's DEFINITELY not worth it. I've never left a bad review on anything before, because I usually look at the bright side/good in situations like this, but there aren't any this time. So please save yourself from all the frustration and inconvenience and don't ever go here.

I am currently going through withdrawal due to the fact that the nurse practitioner, Carla Dimiris, messed up my prescription not once, twice but THREE times. Her overall attitude was rude and condescending. I mentioned that I have MTHFR and knowing I am sensitive to certain medications and have severe reactions, she prescribed 2 new ones and took away the one that has proven most effective for my panic attacks. The new medication had drug interactions with my current medication according to my pharmacist. At our last appointment she went beyond professionalism with how rude her comments are. I

I would give no stars if I could. From the minute I walked in, I was greeted with “how long is it gonna take ya to fill the paperwork?” No hello, how are you, etc. When the “nurse practitioner” (and I use that term loosely, because a real nurse would have a bedside manner) came to get me, her first words to me actually were, “Let’s go because I have to see another patient in 45 minutes.” She didn’t introduce herself, ask how I was, etc. When I explained I only needed a refill on medication that I was planning to stop eventually, the nurse practitioner asked why I didn’t go somewhere

The very worst experience my daughter has ever endured as a mental health patient.
She doesn’t even know if she saw the practioner she was scheduled to see due to the lack of introduction, poor manners and incompetency.
Medications were changed without knowing my daughter’s history, a fact that appalls me.
I would never recommend this facility to anyone! If I could give it -5 stars, not the one star I had to give it in order to write this. If you, as a practioner, are too tired and burned out to do your job, then find another career.

I’ve been going here for about a year, I see Carla and she is great, she really listens and takes her time with each patient, she is genuinely interested in what I have to say, I highly recommend her she is also very down to earth and I don’t even feel like I’m at a doctors appt when I’m there, she takes a different approach to treatment and I can tell she definitely knows what she’s talking about. I’m shocked at the negative reviews on here, those people are probably just mad they didn’t get the meds they wanted.. also the receptionist Sarah is awesome, and very nice every time I
