After ending up with bulging and herniated discs I was incapacitated due to pain. I was referred to a physical therapist 3 days a week for months while paying a $60 copay at every visit. I received little to no relief and was told told that my only options were epidurals and surgery and that I would have to give up hiking and kayaking. At this point I was referred to Dr. Yland and at our first visit he explained to me why physical therapy had not worked for my problems and that there was no guarantee that epidurals or surgery would work. He instead offered other options to try that may work before

It goes without saying that one goes to a pain management doctor to alleviate pain. I was having severe nerve pain in my shoulder blade emanating from neck. I also had pain, weakness, and numbing in my arm on that side. I visited Dr. Yland in Stony Brook. He prescribed for me a medication which we discussed would probably not work for me as I had taken it before for something unrelated. The pain I had was debilitating. He also prescribed an MRI that I got that day, not without much pain. He told me he could not do anything for me for at least 2 weeks. When I asked him what I was supposed to do
