In 1944, John S. Cryan Sr. opened his store in Philadelphia with one diamond and a dream for the future. Little did he realize that the family tradition would still be going strong more than 60 years later with its third generation. John S. Cryan Jr. opened the store at our current location in 1964.
We do written appraisals, appropriate for insurance appraisal. We are happy to provide you with an insurance appraisal on your purchase free of charge. Please contact us to schedule an appointment. We do offer bridal registry to new brides and a wish list for all customers wishing to register for that special gift that you would like others to know you have an eye on, or to just remind yourself.

I cannot say enough about the service I experienced or the integrity displayed by the owner, John Cryan. I came to his store with an impossible task: to repair my mother's wedding band that was cut off during recent hospital stay so that it looked like it did the day my father bought it for her (50+ yrs ago!) and do it before Christmas. John took the job on like a holy obligation - exceeded my expectations in terms of timing and quality -- and then refused to take payment in return. He has earned a customer for life. Do yourself a favor and shop here.

Would highly recommend. I came in for an engagement ring and John sat with me for over an hour giving me all the information I could ever need. I eventually ended up with an beautiful ring, and now a fiancé! John sources amazing diamonds and gets his jewelery from within the USA. Support local and domestic businesses. My daughter and I visited John Cryan Jewelers so that we could get me wife a gift. John was very personable. He took the time to ask my daughter what her mother liked wearing (pieces, style, type of gold, etc). He then selected several items that he thought were best. After deciding on three items, John said that we could bring them back if they weren't the items that my wife loved.
My wife loved the earrings but wasn't sure about the other two pieces. She returned with us. John asked her about her preferences. We decided on a beautiful ring to go along with the earrings.

John's team is nothing less than amazing. They're all polite, professional, and extremely eager to help. John himself is someone who puts customer service above monetary value. I had a bracelet break and he repaired it for cheaper than anywhere else i went. It broke again in a different spot and he was eager to repair it again free of charge. That by itself was more than generous. I ran into him again during valentines week while the store was completely packed. I’ve been going to John Cryan since I was a kid, and in three decades, I have never failed to be impressed by his level of service, knowledge, and kind personality. Whether it was explaining to me that the antique rings I had inherited from an aunt were actually very nice, resizing one of those rings, or fixing that same ring when I broke it, I always knew I was in good hands.
