Dr. Steven Allsing is a highly specialized orthopedic surgeon with particular interest in disorders of the hips, knees, and shoulders. He is one of the select few Surgeons in San Diego with advanced training in the MAKO Robotic Assisted surgery for the most precise partial knee and total hip replacement.
Scott is the newest addition to Allsing Orthopedics having officially joined the practice in June of 2016. Scott Barker is a nationally certified Physician Assistant specializing in the field of Orthopedics. He has spent numerous years as an orthopedic surgical P.A. where he specialized in joint surgery, having assisting on over 1000 joint replacements, working alongside many of San Diego's best surgeons including Dr. Allsing.
In terms of an orchestra, Courtney is our conductor. She is always happy to answer any questions regarding appointments and other scheduling issues. Courtney is a San Diego Native, and in fact, was born at Grossmont Hospital. She earned her undergraduate degree in English at Cal Poly San Louis Obispo.
Alexy is our bilingual patient care coordinator fluent in English and Spanish. She coordinates all outpatient therapy knowing the best therapists that are most convenient to you. In addition, she assists our valued patients with any questions regarding their treatment plans, providing a direct link between our patients and the providers.

I came to Dr. Allsing and Mr. Baker in 2017 with the need of a total right-hip replacement. I was 21 years old at the time, and I am one of youngest cases to need a total hip replacement with Dr. Allsing. When I found out that I needed surgery for my hip, I was frightened because I could not believe that I needed a total hip replacement being so young. I was scared that I could never be the same. After eight years of knee pain and four different orthopedic doctors I finally found Dr. Allsing and PA Scott Barker. My leg was completely bowed out with a major limp and the rest of my body was compensating. It was important that I found a great doctor since I work as a firefighter and wanted to go back to work after my knee replacement. After my surgery my life has completely changed. This place is the best! Their office staff is very polite and calls you by your first name like family. The way they go about treating you is better than any other place I have ever been. My surgery for a torn meniscus was so perfect I feel like a normal person again and not a walking one legged zombie. I highly recommend this place to everyone I meet. I am a trifecta patient of Dr. Allsing. I have had shoulder, hip and knee surgery over a period of years. I would not have returned for my 2nd or 3rd surgery if I didn’t have the greatest faith in the skills of Dr. Allsing and his office. I also know that they treat all of their patients with great respect. As an added bonus the staff sees the brighter side of life with their colorful socks and colorful computer mouse. These perks are a conversation starter and helps put their patients at ease. To me only a scrooge would not appreciate this effort. If I could I would give him a 10 star rating

I had a total knee replacement in April of this year. 7 months later, I am happy to report that I am back to serious hiking and all the activities I had done prior to my knee problems. Dr. Allsing and his staff were so kind and pleasant to work with. I have referred several people to him, all with the same great results. Thank you Dr. Allsing and staff!

Reviews are so important! And Dr. Allsing and his staff don't get the kudos they deserve. I was skeptical of even making an appt because from the reviews it seemed like it would be chaotic and I would be disappointed with something. But the person who answered the phone was very organized and knew the P.A.'s schedule and the Dr.'s. I was on time to my appt and was greeted with my choice of Keurig coffee (as much as I would like to drink). They were on time bringing me in and took x-rays there. There's thank you letters in the patients exam rooms from previous patients/interns (Good sign). Dr. Allsing

My experience with Dr. Allsing is nothing but respect for him and his staff. Always courteous and willing to help with whatever information you are seeking. He did a hip surgery on my husband and has had no problems in 10 years. Recovery time was very quick as well. Good job, Great Doctor and staff.
