Girard Orthopedic Surgeons
Over the past few years I have managed to break bones in both my wrist and elbow. Thanks to the unbelievable care of Dr. Rickards I have nothing more than a scar of two to show for it.

Girard Orthopedic Surgeons is comprised of five Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeons and a Board Certified Podiatrist with subspecialty training in the fields of Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy, Joint Replacement & Revision Surgery, Spine Surgery, Hand & Microvascular Surgery, and Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Services
Girard Orthopedic Surgeons has a long tradition of providing exceptional comprehensive orthopedic care to the San Diego community for over 45 years. Our tradition traces back to 1965 with our first office in downtown La Jolla, on Girard Avenue. We established our La Jolla/UTC office in 1990, and for the convenience of our patients, we have also added offices in South Bay and East County.
In an effort to keep our Clinics and Physical Therapy offices virus free, Girard Orthopaedic Surgeons is practicing Social Distancing by minimizing the amount of people allowed in our offices. We verbally screen all patients the day prior to their appointment, we take temperatures of anyone who enters our office, and we require facemasks.
We have developed a fun, creative, and educational environment with state of the art exercise equipment. Our therapists have a wide array of functional training expertise and equipment to replicate "real life" movement ranging from balance activities to agility drills to specific hand function and coordination required for daily activities.
Andy graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He then enrolled at USC and earned his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. He has been a licensed physical therapist since 1980 and has had the opportunity to practice at some of San Diego's finest sports and orthopedic facilities over the years.
Please come to therapy wearing the appropriate athletic attire and work out shoes for your injury. Laz parking rates are as followed: $2.00 for the first 20 minutes and $1.00 for every 20 minutes thereafter. The daily maximum amount for the parking is $12.00. For a typical one hour appointment the cost is approximately $5.00 per day.

I have just completed physical therapy at Girard Orthopedic and I would highly recommend this group. My therapist was Reggie along with his team. They were all very caring, pleasant, and made me feel so comfortable. The treatment was so great that at the end of my sessions I am totally free of all the pain I had and I am so grateful for that. i would definitely use them again if I ever needed any future physical therapy.

This is probably the most unprofessional medical office Ive ever been too. Rude receptionist and rude extremely unprofessional doctor. Specially the doctor that said he doesn’t care for Spanish speaking patients and most of the nurses being hispanic this office . Front staff being hispanic and being rude to their own people. This office is only for the money and not for the care of patients. Dont waste your time . UCSD is a few blocks away!!

Best experience I've ever had in a doctor's office! Easy to make an appointment and the office staff were outstanding, especially Melissa. X-rays only took minutes and we didn't have to wait at all to see the doctor. We came in for a follow-up consult on my daughter's leg and we were in and out in no time with exceptional medical knowledge and advice. Doctor Lyle Rosenfield exceeded all expectations. Look no further - this is the best orthopedic office in San Diego County!

I am very happy with the services I receive here at Girard Orthopaedics Group. Dr. Michael Collins is amazing. I’ve seen Dr. Collins at his Chula Vista office as well as the La Jolla office. Very friendly staff at both locations. Dr. Collins make me feel at ease with the possibility of having surgery to my foot/ankle. I would highly recommend to anyone in need of Orthopedic services.

I am 7 days post op and I am in utter disbelief that the only pain I have is the incision from my neck fusion/discectomy
(C6/C7) I could honestly cry thinking about it. I’ve had chronic neck pain, sprains, pulls and tears for 10+ yrs. I have two daughters and I’m very active. Unfortunately my quality of life has constantly been on the hinges of my neck health, which was generally not good. I was referred to Dr. Bahgheri in 2017. I have been able to self heal with flare ups since then, but not this time. I was down with severe neck, shoulder, and arm pain for 7 weeks. In that time I had gone

Dr. Rickards has been awesome. My right hand is nearly back to normal and she's about to do the left carpel tunnel reduction. The office gets a little hectic but I have never had to wait very long and when you do see the doctor, you have her full attention.
