Building Blocks Learning Center is a family owned childcare center that fosters care and learning for children ages 6 weeks to school age. Our center has successfully been operating for 28 years and we strive to meet all the individual needs of each family and child in our care.
In the earliest days of a young child's life is important for them to feel safe and secure in their environment. Safety, routine, and love are essential components to an infant's daily growth and development. In our infant room, we work with each child's schedule and routine that best suits each family's needs.
Our toddler program focuses on nurturing the growth and development of their social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills. During this time in a young child's life, they are learning language and social skills at a rapid pace. We focus on learning sign language, finger plays, songs, reading books, and creative play daily.
Our preschool program has a fun and thorough curriculum which focuses on the whole child. Our weekly themes are child centered, with a focus on literacy, math, science, and social/emotional development. The teachers have a passion for children and find ways to make their learning meaningful by fostering their independence and individual interest for learning.
Our Pre-K program also has a fun and innovative curriculum that focuses on CT's Early Learning Developmental Standards. The standards are a crosswalk to the Common Core State Standards and our program strives to prepare our students for Kindergarten. We focus on learning social/emotional skills for the classroom (such as resilience and attention) and academic (reading, writing, math, science, and social studies).

We have been bringing our son to Building Blocks since he was 6 months old. He is now 3 and we couldn't be happier and we LOVE that the school is now Angel Watch Accredited. If you are looking for a daycare center who works daily with your child on numbers, letters, colors and so much more, this is the best place. The staff pays close attention to our son and we feel safe dropping him off each day. Our child enjoys being there every day. He had made many new friends and we even have made new friends with other parents! The staff is warm, welcoming and dedicated. We couldn't be more thrilled with

We absolutely love it here! We've been a part of this community since 2012. For my kids, it's like a second home. We feel safe and happy knowing they are loved by amazing teachers 😘
The Pre-K curriculum is fabulous! It prepared my child for kindergarten and she was advanced compared to other children.
The baby and toddler rooms provide programs, not just babysitters. My toddler comes home daily with stories about what activities they did that day. I'd recommend this daycare/early learning center to anyone!

My son has been at Building Blocks for 3 years and we (and he) loves it and it is great knowing that with the AngelWatch Accreditation, the center is now the safest in the country. The teachers have been very nice and responsive to anything we have asked of them and we always feel that he gets the attention that he needs. We feel he is getting a great head start for future education plus the social skills that will help him transition to the next level. Thanks!

BBLC has provided care for my son in the past and now my daughter and I cannot say enough great things! Friendly atmosphere, great staff, amazing owners! I always have a positive feeling leaving my daughter there knowing she is in great hands. Tuition pricing is better than most local daycares as well. If you are looking at daycare options in Wallingford, do not leave BBLC off your list!

Building Blocks Learning Center is absolutely wonderful! Both my children attend and my sister’s little one attends. Many of our friends have enrolled their children because of the wonderful feedback my husband and I have given them. The teachers care for our children so much. They are so wonderful with our littlest one, our oldest one absolutely loves coming to school and seeing his teachers and his friends. All he talks about is how he had a wonderful day and how he loves to learn. He can count and knows all his ABCs because they teach them so well! We are so glad we have found such a wonderful

My daughter has attended Building Blocks since the age of 5 months and has now been there for almost 4 years. Throughout the years, she has been cared for and loved by the staff. Every day, we walk in and my daughter is greeted by all of the staff. My daughter loves all of her teachers. They have always been very responsive when I have asked questions or had any concerns. She has learned so much there both academically and socially. She has developed friendships that have blossomed and have been fostered by the school. I recommend BBLC to anyone looking for good childcare!

I am extremely pleased with the care and attention my son has received since starting at Building Blocks! He has grown both socially and educationally under the care of the superior staff, as well as Christine, the owner. The rooms are clean, bright and neat and the outdoor area is very big to accommodate all age groups. I love the outdoor "barn" where the kids can burn off some energy even in the cold weather. Nothing but great things to say about them!
