Westside Family Health Center
In 1974, a small group of dedicated feminists and mid-level clinicians came together and started the Women's Health Care Project as part of a larger social change movement in Santa Monica to provide women's health care. Using the Boston Women's Health Collaborative's Our Bodies, Ourselves as inspiration and guidance, the Women's Health Care Project helped women share experiences, enabled them to learn more about their bodies and their health and empowered them through knowledge.

What is now Westside Family Health Center added prenatal care in 1990, pediatric services in 1992, adolescent health care in 1994, a family practice program that includes a strong healthy aging component in 1999 and serves women, men and children, and in 2019 WFHC added mental health services. For more highlights of WFHC's history, check out the timeline below.

Hey guys could you please give me my IPA thing that I can make an appointment with dr Gilbert? It’s impossible to call westside center. I regret. I’m walking with a walker for two months and It’s impossible to call this center to do anything. It’s Hilarious. I’m waiting to see my doctor on January 7 2022 to ask him to tell staff to give me my IPA to make an appointment with a rheumatologist. I can’t wait on the phone for almost 4 hours to talk to someone. Please Help.

Immediately switched my primary care doctor, they were playing with my scheduled appointment and rescheduled me on their own without letting me know then said I couldn't see anyone at the time I had scheduled. Playing with people's lives, also reported them to my health care provider.

I've had very negative experiences with this center and am so relieved to finally be able to change my insurance and get away. Firstly, as many have stated, their phone service is horrible. No one should have to wait 30 minutes (minimum) on hold when they call a medical office. Secondly, the front desk staff is bare minimum at best and have been largely unhelpful in every interaction with them. Thirdly, during my first appointment meeting my PCP, she ignored my concerns that I have a hormone imbalance and would not order a blood test for me. I saved money and went independently to get my hormones

I have been a patient at Westside Family Health Center until recently and always had such a positive experience. The staff is very helpful, especially with appointment reminders. I've never had issues making an appointment and the wait time at their new location in Culver City is much improved. I'm grateful to the wonderful team of doctors and staff at Westside Fam. Health Center.

I'm editing my review because I see a lot of people complaining about their phone system. Yes, it's not great. But, download the app they tell you to download (Healow) and you can make appointments, text, and everything through the app.
I really don't think having a bad phone system is worth giving a company 1 star.
I can't believe they have bad reviews. We have had nothing but positive experiences here for both prenatal and pediatric care. I came here my entire pregnancy and was treated so well. The staff became like family and I looked forward to my appointments. I now take my newborn son there

I never leave bad reviews but I would highly recommend to choose another provider. Honestly the staff and doctors are so nice but it is impossible to get someone on the phone to make an appointment. Every time I call, I wait for at least 45 minutes on hold. This has led me to go to the doctors less frequently because I don't want to deal with it. They have an online portal, but the first time I used it to send a message, they called me 3 weeks after to follow up on the appointment request. I recently went through all that for an appointment so that they could refer me to a dermatologist. Just getting

I am pleased to say that I have enjoy the care I received at Westside Family Health Center. As of late, the service has been terrible. Today I missed a call from them to confirm my phone appointment at 2pm. I called back as soon as I got of class at 11am, needless to say I was on hold for thirty minutes, followed by being hung up on. I continued calling up until my 2pm appointment and no one ever answered. I never received my 2pm appointment phone call! At this point, I am beyond fustrated because I have waited a week and half to have this phone appointment, just to not receive a call smh. The

Seemed new & bright. Staff was extremely friendly & helpful. 1st time visit in 3 yrs., & I felt extremely grateful that I hit the jackpot w/ Dr. Barta. Parking is free & they also offer meal plans. A non-profit to be proud of.
