A Stones Throw Winery was originally founded in 2002 out of Trabuco Canyon and operated as a small boutique winery called Hamilton Oaks Vineyard and Winery Inc. In 2012 the winery opened a second tasting room as Hamilton Oaks San Juan in the historic Swanner House in San Juan Capistrano, on the 3-acre property amongst the orange groves.
In 2016 a group of former Marines and retired Marines formed a new partnership with Giracci Vineyards and Farms to establish A Stones Throw Winery. The winery is thrilled to have the expertise of the Giracci Team and the support of some-hard charging Marines. Conveniently located in South Orange County, the San Clemente locale transports you to another place and time.

They had spent the better part of a decade rehabilitating a historic property in the east Orange County canyons and were intrigued by finding a larger second location that could provide a venue for weddings for up to 400 guests. Owned by the City of San Juan Capistrano, the historic farmhouse sits on 2.6 acres and is surrounded be Valencia orange trees.

Went as part of a almost expiring pandemic gift certificate. Told multiple times no reservations needed come these dates/hours. Literally received email that morning saying they were open, come on down. Nope, a memorial was happening, private event, so we were turned away. And apparently they don't answer the phone.

We went to this place in San Juan Capistrano this last Tuesday. It’s a beautiful place with tons of room for parties, weddings, baby or bridal showers. The wonderful, amazing food we had and the setting was one of the best places I’ve ever had the pleasure of going to. They sell herbs, honey and wine, antiques. Well worth the drive ! Can’t say enough good things about this place! Please go and support this small up and coming business!

A review for the cafe: I had a lunch to go and the simple pork sandwich was amazing. The pork was perfectly moist with crispy edges and the seasoning and bread was great. They even added some yummy details to the little side cup of olives. The venue is very nice, it is a crossroad of various cycling routes, which is what I was doing when I stopped by, no problems.
