The Handwork Studio
We're so glad you're here! The Handwork Studio is a fun, summer enrichment camp where kids learn by making. Since 2001, we've been the leading educators in teaching kids hands-on skills that you won't find in your school curriculum. Whether your child is interested in building, sewing, coding or design, we provide engaging activities for kids to embrace their imagination and think like innovators.

Inside a safe, nurturing environment, kids are encouraged to embrace the emotional journey that comes with learning a new skill and master confidence. Kids are guided throughout a week of camp to shake off the nerves, commit to their choices, overcome challenges and leave camp confident in their capabilities.
Services
The Handwork Studio was born of one mother's desire to provide nurturing, creative and pride to her children through handmade creations. At The Handwork Studio, we understand your desire to choose the best programming to fit your schedule that will not only teach your child amazing lifelong skills but will inspire them to be amazing creative humans.
The Handwork Studio is a nationally recognized organization that centers on handwork education. We empower children, families, and communities through experiential learning where children learn by making and reflection. We encourage children during their creative journey to develop an internal sense of pride by being kind to themselves, accept mistakes, and fearlessly explore their ideas.
Thank you for checking in with us. 2020 brought changes we would have never expected! Our Narberth Studio, our only year round brick and mortar location was sold in Octobor 2020. It is bittersweet to know we've outgrown our beloved space in Narberth where we've provided classes, workshops and camps for the last 18 years.
Dream it, design it, build it! Using award-winning recycled cardboard-based construction systems, hand-tools, imagination, and problem-solving skills, the possibilities are endless. Skilled Handwork Studio counselors challenge campers to explore architectural concepts, gain a deeper understanding of spatial relationships, and experiment to bring structures from their minds to reality.
When your child learns how to sew, saw or code for the first time they begin a journey towards mastery. Each day of the week represents a step in our unique process of helping kids learn by making. Our unique process takes the campers through the phases of Comfort, Commitment, Courage, Capabilities and Confidence.

My two kids had a blast at the Handwork Studio’s camps at Sidwell Friends summer camp this year. In addition to enjoying the fun activities, they really bonded with the kind teachers each week (they were in a combined total of 10 weeklong camps).
Our older child took Machine Sewing, Spa Crafts, American Architecture, Sew Tech, and Woodworking, now uses a sewing machine with confidence, is thinking about being an architect, and has a handmade a wood bookcase, birdhouse, and box.
Our younger loved the Jewelry Making, Fiber Arts, and Junior Robotics classes, was excited to show us all of the projects

Great, friendly, local spot. Our 1st grader just enjoyed her first 2 days at Spring Break camp here in Narberth. She has come home with fun, keepable sewing projects each day and has surprised us with how enthusiastic she is about returning. Definitely considering re-enrolling for summer. Love their affordable hands-on activities.

My 5yr old son attended the Handwork Studio Fiber Arts Camp the week of 7/15/19 and LOVED it. He was able to experiment with weaving, felting, making pom poms, hand sewing, and much more. He said his favorite parts were making a pillow and working a guided sewing machine. He hopes to continue his learning at camp again next summer.

I visited the studio for a sip and stitch event with friends. It was such a fun experience. The instructor was laid back and knowledgeable. She demonstrated the project, helped if we needed a hand and let us enjoy our time. I came away with something I really loved, too. I'll definitely be heading back!

My daughter is doing the camp in DC, and she absolutely loves it. She's been carrying all her projects around the house with her and takes them wherever she goes. She's really proud of what she's making and it's so heartwarming to see the effect of the camp on her!
