You will be treated as a whole and not just as a single visual problem. Each eye examination includes not only vision and prescription issues, but evaluation for any disease, including but not limited to corneal problems, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Your first visit to Dr. Mary Szatkowski involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. Intraocular lenses are implanted in almost all cataract surgeries. They replace the focusing power of the lens that is removed. They are essential to provide high quality vision after the procedure. Intraocular lens technology continues to improve. Today many different types of intraocular lenses exist.
The vast majority of patients who undergo cataract surgery receive monofocal IOLs. While these lenses may successfully correct distance vision, they don't provide near or intermediate vision. This means patients must continue to wear glasses or bifocals for daily tasks like reading labels at the grocery store, newspapers, menus, computer screens or medicine bottles.
Lenses that correct for astigmatism are referred to as Toric IOLS. Patients who have astigmatism suffer from unfocused vision at all distances. This new lens technology can provide excellent distance vision without glasses. Standard intraocular lenses do not correct for any astigmatism, and patients must wear glasses for distance and near vision after cataract surgery.
Diabetic eye disease is a group of eye problems that patients may develop as a complication of diabetes. All can cause severe vision loss or even blindness. Glaucoma - Optic nerve damage and vision loss that is often associated with elevated eye pressure. Diabetics have a higher risk of developing glaucoma.

Excellent experience with eyelid surgery for ptosis and an upper bleph, plus a brow lift. Would highly recommend Dr. Mary's services. Her office staff is amazing, welcoming and warm. I can't wait to engage with their office more for some other cosmetic procedures. It is also great to be able to get your eyes exam done as well!

Made an appointment via Zocdoc with Dr Totten for an annual eye exam and complained about chronic dry eyes. Dr Totten, who was very professional and pleasant, then recommend I speak with Dr Mary. I was a little apprehensive about speaking Dr. Mary since i wasn't expecting to be at a cosmetic surgeon's office to begin with. Anyways, I found Dr Mary very professional as well, and the punctal plugs she placed in my eyes have helped with my dry eyes tremendously! I'm also Asian (and a Chinese one at that) but I did not experience any racially offensive remarks which a previous poster unfortunately

I went in for a eye exam. I knew I would be charged to get my eyes dilated etc, however, several weeks AFTER the exam, I was sent an additional bill for $300 just for being a "new patient". I had found her through ZocDoc, had been told I was in-network, etc. I knew the dilation would cost money but was not expecting a $300 bill on TOP of the $110 I spent on getting my eyes examine. It's ridiculous. I was never informed of the charge and I can't believe they would charge me $300 for being a new patient, considering the fact that now that I've been blindsided by that bill, I'll never go back there

I went there because of a bleeding virus infection and they told me that there was nothing they could do. When I was done with the appointment I was waiting for my friend to pick me up and the doctor comes out and says out loud "What is that Chinese girl still doing here". I'm not Chinese. Not all yellow asians are Chinese. This is really an offensive thing to say. Also, I came back for a check up the next week and then they said that the virus got more complicated so then they can give me eye drops. After using them for less than a day, my eyes were miraculously better which is funny because a

Was not sure the best way to write my review so I figured multiple would be best. I had ptosis surgery in July and could not be happier with my results. She was patient with me and took the time to talk with me and answer all questions before. The surgery and recovery was much easier than I expected and I am extremely happy with my eyes. Thank you Dr. Mary

I came here recommended by a friend. Dr. Mary is absolutely the best. I can't say enough good things about her. She is super honest, straight to the point and knows her stuff. There is no rushing patients in and out and they really take the time to make sure you're taken care of. The office and space is beautiful and everyone is very friendly.
