A cataract is a common condition that causes a clouding of the eye's natural lens, and affects millions of people each year, including more than half of all Americans over the age of 65. Cataracts cause a progressive, painless loss of vision. The lens clouds naturally as we age, causing people over the age of 65 to see a gradual reduction of vision.
Emergency care may be required for trauma to the eye as a result of an accident, scratch or contamination, as well as for any sudden onset of troubling symptoms, including redness, pain, swelling and visual impairment. It is essential for anyone experiencing these symptoms after a traumatic eye event to seek immediate medical attention in order to reduce the risk of vision loss and other types of permanent damage.
Macular degeneration is a major cause of impaired reading or detailed vision. It is caused by the breakdown of the central part of the retina or macula. The central vision can be distorted, color vision can be reduced but the peripheral vision remains unaffected. Macular degeneration is often referred to as "age-related macular degeneration" or AMD.

Dr. office had ultrasound tech who did not know how to perform test., Walked out of there soaking wet. office was more concerned about utilizing doctors personally owned limo service and upgraded lenses that what I had explained that I wanted, Pushed limo service hard and should have been using Northwest Community Day Surgery but was going to send us into Chicago for surgery. Told us our cost would be $250 - $350 ( I called twice to verify this) and 2 days before surgery our cost was well over $3600 Cancelled surgery and will find a more professional doctor to have cataract surgery
