A family-owned practice serving the Chicago Western Suburbs for over 50 years. In 1959, Dr. Samuel C. Vitale started the practice in Addison. His son, Dr. James A. Vitale joined the practice in 1986. Dr. James A. Vitale serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor for Midwestern University Chicago College of Optometry.
His focus is on the total health of the eye, treating infections, diseases, and injuries to the eye. He provides comprehensive eye exams that allow each patient to achieve optimum vision. Dr. Vitale uses state of the art equipment, including digital photography, visual fields, and OCT scanning for macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Several months ago I had Dr. Vitale and staff transform an all black, 25 year old pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers into prescription sun glasses, and they're AWESOME!
I was so happy the way they turned out, I decided to have another pair made into sunglasses.
Once again, Dr. Vitale and staff did an amazing job fitting another twenty five year old pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers (tortoise frames) with prescription "transition" lenses.
In the past year, I've had Dr. Vitale's office transform four pairs of regular sunglasses into prescription sunglasses, including an expensive pair of

You are treated like one of the family when you come to Dr. Vitale's office. Then, as if you are a treasured aunt, you are given the best exam by a caring doctor. I know it is cheaper to get your glasses elsewhere, but I always buy them here because they are honest and are reliable. If there is a problem it is handled quickly and efficiently. I recommend Dr. Vitale to everyone!
