I cannot recommend MacKenzie HVAC. A few years ago, when we purchased a home in NH, and noticed our central AC system was not working well we had them come onsite to evaluate and service our equipment.
They told us we should stop running the system immediately, and that it all needed to be replaced, was not serviceable.
Our system is a SEER10 system, and the proposed replacement was only SEER14. No big jump in efficiency. They wanted $14K for the replacement, as it would require a new external compressor, and high velocity air handler in a tight space in the attic.
Well, since this quote

I would recommend these guys to everyone. Robert came out to do all the electrical work, James and MacKenzie installed the unit. I really couldn't be happier. They were timely, friendly, and professional. They even took time to be friendly with my cats. I seriously can't recommend them highly enough. The unit went in professionally within a few hours, they patched up all holes and cleaned up any mess, everything looks beautiful, and my place is now the perfect temperature everywhere. What more could one ask for?

After several requests to speak to a manager, Carl called and explained that he had been on vacation. He defended the charges, arguing that they performed an additional "task" by pushing the relight button of my water heater pilot, during the process of diagnosing the reason that the pilot was out. I still disagree with his reasoning, but after reviewing my billing history and fifteen years of servicing all of the heating and cooling needs of our 3 unit condominium, he agreed to provide me a credit for the additional cost above the Service Call charge towards future annual service. We had this company do work for us and the product they installed has never worked properly. When we had them come to fix it, even though it never worked properly, they charged us over $600 to correct the problem. Even then the product didn't work. We had to purchase a similar product from another company and we have never had a problem with it.
