Established in 2004 and currently nestled near Sleeping Giant Mountain in Hamden Connecticut, Lovecraft Tattoo is a small studio consisting of three artists: Christian DiMenna, Nicole Ma. Guerrero and Ray Trombetta.
Each artist here is heavily influenced by Art, Music and Nature, spending much of their time away from the studio hiking, going to museums, drawing, painting and combing through various books; all of which influences what each artist brings to the table when designing custom tattoos for their clients.Take some time to to go through each artist's portfolio to see who would best suit your design ideas.

Services
To book an appointment or to speak to an artist please call or e-mail an artist. A deposit is required to hold any tattoo appointments. No Appointment is made without a deposit. DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE but may be used towards the final price of the tattoo. If an appointment is canceled after a design drawing has been received by the client the deposit is considered the fee for design time.

I got two tattoos done by ray! He was extremely kind and welcoming and listened to my ideas and implemented them exactly the way I wanted. He didn't get frustrated when I asked for the stencil moved. Overall a great experience! (and I got some great tattoos out of it.)

I went to Nicole (the_nixie_pixie) for my tattoo and I love it! I had a great experience at this studio. Nicole was so kind and it was super easy to talk to her throughout the tattoo! She is a very genuine and sweet person, and completely put me at ease. She had a light hand and worked efficiently (fast but still with great attention to detail). I informed her that I’m allergic to adhesives and can’t use Saniderm and she was super sweet and made sure to use saran wrap and did it in a way that made it so the adhesive tape barely touched my skin. I had a pretty bad first tattoo experience (didn’t come out as I had hoped), but coming here was an entirely different story. Christian was so welcoming and easygoing, and made the whole experience so easy and fun. I got a small Roman numeral tattoo on my wrist and the price was very fair and it came out exactly as I had hoped. I also felt totally safe during covid times!

I’ve been going to love craft tattoo for several years now. They are amazing artists that produce high quality tattoos and they’re good people! Charlotte is so talented and I’m so happy with my beautiful… tattoo! (Laura who moved shops did the rose crown and gems on top) I Highly recommend Any of the artists. You won’t be disappointed!

Charlotte is amazing, as are all the artists at Lovecraft! I’ve been to her several times and have my next appointment booked already. She is patient and very considerate throughout the process. I chose this… tattoo shop by the high ratings on Yelp and I’m so happy I found them. Everyone is super professional and friendly - would highly recommend!

This place right here get a five star in every way for my work that I have done I am very pleased over the years they're very attentive very sweet very friendly very accommodating great pricing great artists sometimes they're so busy with certain artists are booked in advance but there's always someone that could take you sooner than others I recommend this to anyone who's getting your first tattoo who is doing a cover up anything you should go to this shop called Lovecraft. The name fits perfectly.

Boom. This place is the "da bomb" as the kids say. I have gone to the shop many times and each visit overcasts the previous in every way possible! Laura is the "bomb digity" and always super prophesh. The last time I dropped in they bought me coffee and let me request shop wide music to which I was eager to play the latest Eagles remaster that I had on CD in my car. They were totally cool with it and by the end of my session everyone was flat out rocking out. They are clean, cool, accommodating and really into the Eagles now (thanks to me). I was looking to get a 3/4 sleeve after my wedding and had been asking friends and reading online reviews of various shops in CT and MA. A recommendation from a friend's wife lead me to Lovecraft, where I decided that I wanted Laura to create and implement her design.
I had my final appointment with her this past Saturday and am beyond thrilled with her work. I would recommend her to anyone looking to get work done, and although I now live in Boston, will make the drive to Hamden when I want more work done.

My boyfriend went to Lou with a concept (he wanted a pirate map on his arm) and Lou created a work of art that stayed true to the original concept while surpassing anything my boyfriend could have imagined. People are always complimenting him on the precision and beauty of his sleeve.
Even now that we live in California we still prefer Lovecraft to any other tattoo place that we've found. The cost of a cross-country trip is well worth it for the high quality work that comes from the artists here.

Fast forward five-ish years. It was time for some new ink, but I had no clue where to go. Thankfully, a few of my coworkers at the time had gotten work done by Laura and Christian, and suggested that I should, too.
Laura is AMAZING. She's super friendly, patient, and welcoming. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

How is it possible that no one's written about Lovecraft yet!? I have been fans of Christian, Cass and Luis since '99. Having formed their own shop five years ago, they are regularly putting out intricate beautiful work. Some that I'm very proud to feature!
The shop's moved away from Amity and as of yet, I haven't visited the new digs. Happily, they are becoming steadily known for being the best tattoo artists in a town known for tattoo artists.
