Primary Care Partnership is the result of many years in the practice of medicine, contemplating how it could be provided in a calmer, more caring way. We believe in the importance of mutual respect in our interactions with our patients and each other. Empowering patients to take an active role in decision-making regarding their preventive and treatment options is the cornerstone of our practice.
In 1962 this medical practice was founded by Stewart and Frankie Kirkaldy in their home in response to the need for a local doctor. While carrying on this tradition, we make the changes which leverage us to do our best work. Practicing with integrity, the care of our patients will ever be our first concern.

Services
Patients and staff alike agree there is a "special energy" in this building that was once a private home, calm and healing.
You will find the comfiest easy chair on the second floor, the Adirondack rocker on the first, next to "Claudine, " the rangy cactus that claims the entire window seat all year long and produces an exceptionally beautiful bloom in the spring, the collection of stunning Joyce Goodman framed photographs on the walls, books for sharing, 4000 paper charts alongside a state-of-the-art electronic health record, a stairwell hung with hummingbird wallpaper, Cindy's fresh flower arrangements in every room, the Beatles, Vivaldi and Gregorian chant piped in overhead for privacy, Sarah's massage table, Maria's Reiki grid, the lowing of cattle in the back 40 accompanying Frankie's beloved birdsong and the gaggling of wild turkeys, Stewart's Illigitimi Non Carborundum necktie for inspiration, the espresso machine and chocolate stash for fortitude, the Nonnie Hood garden replete with magnanimous magnolia, lilies and lilac, spirea and mock orange, dogwood, holly, cedar, rhododendron and azalea, peonies and iris, the signature bank of blue hydrangea, an array of plants placed in memory of loved patients and family passed, many, many weeds because pulling weeds is such good therapy, and the sunny deck under the locust, where yoga and tai chi are practiced, and the occasional free-loading frog is released.

Our practice has always been based on the principle that we are partners with our patients. We practice with integrity, in a patient-centered practice, where the whole individual is seen and heard. We are striving to continue to provide the high quality of care you expect, the reason why you have put your faith in us as your physicians.
The primary expertise of our practice is providing allopathic medical care. We also value the contributions of providers experienced in complementary or alternative medicine, including the disciplines ofosteopathic manipulation, chiropractic, muscular therapy, herbology, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, and Reiki, and seek to integrate these approaches when beneficial.
Personalized membership care is an exciting and rapidly growing model to provide primary care without the costly interference of health insurance companies. Instead, our patients pay us directly through a convenient and affordable flat monthly fee. This allows us to keep our practice small and provide you with highly accessible, personalized, and preventive care when you need it.
I feel very lucky to be part of this practice. Dr. Hood and Dr. Ottenstein offer a wonderful mix of traditional and non-traditional medical insight. The staff are super helpful and kind. I have truly benefited from the personal and holistic approach to health and wellness. The attention and advice I receive from your practice is knowledgeable, well-rounded and my unique situation is always taken into account.
