Safe-T-Sweep, Inc got its start in 1980. My father and mother were looking for an additional source of income. My father tells me that teachers were only making about $6,000 a year when he first started. He would do a couple of jobs after school and all day Saturday. My brother K.C. and I would distribute flyers in the neighborhoods where we were working.
Back then we used to charge by the story, I think a one story house went for $30.00. Since that time we have purchased two other chimney sweep companies. One sweep was going into the missionary field and the other was concerned about the potential for cancer from always working around creosote. Safe-T-Sweep is a superb choice in chimney cleaners. My neighbor referred this company to me and it is the best referral I ever received. This company was punctual, professional, clean and knowledgeable. The gentlemen cleaned my gas flue as well as my wood burning flue. I burn in excess of a cord a wood per year. My chimney, including my glass screen, never was cleaner. They left my house cleaner than when they arrived. I have referred this company to others and they plan to use them as well. Bottom line, would I use them again, yes, without any hesitation.

We used them to clean and inspect our fireplace chimney. We had a very old wood burning stove insert in the fireplace. They told us they found evidence of a chimney fire. They showed us pictures of the damage. They suggested that we contact our insurance company They worked with our insurance company and we were able to have a chimney insert and a new wood stove installed. All of the work was completed within a matter of a few weeks.

I used this company twice in the past year. When I purchased my house I was unaware of the condition of the fireplace flue and chimney. I called many chimney sweeps (some highly recommended) and was told by all that my fireplace would require $10,000 + dollars worth of work in order to be used. After doing much research I found Safe-T-Sweep. They came out and did a no charge consultation and assured me that I would have no problem burning fires for many years to come. Hesitantly at first (only because of the other companies telling my my fireplace was destroyed) I decided to light a test fire.
