Diane hails from Hawaii and lends her skills to the dive operation while working full time for the Army. Jeremy is a navy vet from from Pennsylvania that used his veteran education benefits to become. Deloye (DJ) has 24 years military service under his belt and is now retired to his second career. Manny grew up in sunny Southern California, taking advantage of everything it has to offer.

Everyone was so nice ,very helpful.
My husband and I signed up for scuba certification. When we filled out the medical portion, we found out my husband was not able to participate due to chest surgery. We contacted them the day of the class. It was too late to cancel. We were put in touch with the dive doctor, who cofirmed that my husband should not dive at this time, but might be able to do so in the future-the doc even texted me some references and articals.
We could not get a full refund because we had started the online portion. But Matt worked hard to refund all he could.

Honolulu scuba company has the best crew! I purchased a open diver certification course with them and had the best time. I was pretty nervous going into the course, but the instructors there really take to time to teach you and make sure you're comfortable with everything that's going on. Highly recommend Jake - had a wonderful experience and well worth the money.

$60 battery change on a oceanic geo2 is just ridiculous by any standard. They charged me $30 initially and I was not told that I would be charged extra for the battery when I returned. I was surprised when they asked me for another $30 for parts. The battery and o ring are $5 at the most. Anyway quite shady on their part to not be upfront about pricing.

Had an AWESOME time with Nick Cordrey as our instructor for the Open Water Diver Certification course! He is patient and clear, plus super fun.
The outfit made some really nice accommodations for us (ie we were very late the first night due to traffic and some location confusion) and they didn't give us a hard time about it.
Would 10/10 recommend both Nick and Honolulu Scuba Company!!
Be sure to confirm which location you're going to for the first night of training because finding the location online can be confusing - it was for us.

Purchased fins here and called to ask about their exchange policy. Was told by the guy on the phone that since we lost our receipt it’s fine, just bring them in and we can exchange them out for you. Simple, right?
Well, upon coming in. The Girl behind the counter was immediately defensive and told me everything that was previously told to me was wrong and she couldn’t help me nor could she do anything about it today without a manager.

We rented snorkeling masks and fins from this store. All 4 masks and mouth pieces kept leaking in water to where we could not use them and had to rent new snorkeling gear. When we went to return the gear, the employee at the store did not do anything but said "unfortunately once the rented equipment leave the store, we could not refund." How could we have known the masks were faulty before leaving the store? Horrible customer service and products. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM HERE.

I did not have a good experience here. I'm new to the island and this is the closest dive shop to where I live, right across the street. I normally dive in tropical waters where I don't need a wet suit at all and the only one I have is a 2/3 (that was also for kids lol) that I found didn't cut it for the local water temps. I called to see what they had. The woman I spoke to on the phone was pleasant and invited me to just stop by and try on the limited suits they had. If there wasn't my size, she said I could try on their rental suits and they can also place an order. Cool.

I purchased the Groupon for the Open Ocean Scuba Diving certification for $249 in August. I booked my class for October and had to reschedule for the end of December. Rebooking was a breeze the receptionist was efficient and I was not charged for rebooking. (As long as it is prior to 48 hours, I believe). I completed the online coursework which was very in-depth on the SSI app. The app was stellar in quality and delivery. The first day of class took place at the Kakaako location. (Living with Covid Series) Honolulu Scuba Company (HSC) is the closest thing I have to a "home" dive shop. It is the closest and most convenient Island Divers Hawaii shop to me. They offer dives, dive classes, air tank refills (a very important consideration now-a-days), and a varied assorted of scuba equipment for sale. Plus they have an in-house technician for scuba equipment repairs, and visual (VIP) & hydro air tank inspections. Their dives originate less than half a mile away at Kewalo Basin Harbor.

I just completed the Open Water Certification this past weekend...4 Oct. Anna was our instructor....along with Aey and Hunter. They were VERY knowledgeable in teaching us our required skills. Anna has the best sense of humor and it really made me at ease along with the rest of the group. Very professional and SOOO helpful. Aey was super helpful as well....she took the time to help us with our necessary skills along with Hunter who was VERY helpful in picking up all the falling snorkels, equipment and such. Had an amazing experience with HSC! Anna is a great instructor and left us feeling very confident in our training and excited to get more dives under our belt. I got my scuba certification with HSC and met great people that took their time with me. I wasn't a jump in and be a fish type. I really wanted it to be natural and comfortable to dive but my brain kept saying "you are human and not supposed to be breathing under water". The team even offered 1:1 session to get me through the last of the certification comfortably. It's been a zen thing for me to release control to the natural elements and I can enjoy all the ocean has to offer. I even joined their scuba club and have made great friends so I'm super stoked I found them!

The crew at HSC we’re absolutely incredible despite COVID. Did the open water cert classes with Kevin and “Scuba” Steve and we’re so much fun to learn from and with. They were very thorough in guiding everyone to learn all they needed to dive safely and correctly. So glad I got my dives and classes with them. Highly recommended dive company. 😄

Kevin, Tim and Anna were helpful with finishing my open water certification course. Kevin was my dive instructor for 2 days by far one of the easiest people I had the pleasure of working with, he gave the necessary skills and let you figure out techniques on your own while diving and explained how to fix them after. Tim the boat captain kept the boat rocking and was just a easy going dude willing to help when needed. Anna 2 as they called her was a life full energy and was another great dive instructor we did see a Yellow spotted moray eel which was awesome. As Kevin said on the first day Electric

Got my first diving certification with Kathleen (she's awesome) a few weeks ago. There were some parts of the practice where I was having trouble equalizing but she built the kind of environment where I didn't feel rushed and she was attentive when it was needed.
Ian also helped us out on the boat and he was a great partner instructor. He was cool, calm, collected, and had great positive reinforcement.
I ended up getting my diving gear there the week after I got certified and the staff was super helpful!
