In Junior Camp, girls going into 2nd-6th Grade FOCUS ON GROUP FUN! Campers live and attend activities with the other girls from their cabin, getting a taste of everything camp has to offer. There's no better way for a prospective camper to find out what Camp is all about than to spend a weekend living like an actual "Bryn Mawr Angel."
Services
Established a century ago as a special summer home just for girls, Lake Bryn Mawr Camp is more than a place. It's a community where a camper can feel truly free to be herself, where she can try new things surrounded by "summer sisters" who will celebrate her successes and help her learn from her mistakes, where the emphasis is not on her appearance or her accomplishments but on her character.
For our younger campers, summer is a time to broaden horizons by trying a little bit of everything. Junior Campers - girls going into second through sixth grade - participate in an activity program that's designed to give them a taste of as many different activities as possible, along with age-appropriate day trips and opportunities for intercamp competition and additional instruction in favorite sports.
By the time campers reach middle and high school, they're ready to take some ownership of their camp experience - and camp is the perfect place to develop independence. That's why in Senior Camp, girls going into seventh through tenth grade get to choose many of their own elective activities. Seniors also have more opportunities for travel off campus, including overnight trips to destinations such as the Berkshires, Vermont, and Boston.
Bryn Mawr campers participate in activities including tennis, soccer, gymnastics, English riding, basketball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, dance, swimming, boating, waterskiing and arts and crafts. They challenge themselves on our ropes courses, perform in camp musicals and dance ensembles, and publish their own newspaper, The Poplar Post.
Climb high above camp, speed down the zipline, or conquer teambuilding challenges close to the ground! All of our adventure activities are "challenge by choice, " meaning campers work at their own comfort level in a positive, pressure-free environment. Along with high and low ropes courses, climbing walls, and facilitated team challenges, campers have opportunities to explore the great outdoors without leaving camp property.

I'm glad campers have had positive experiences because staff have not. You don't make minimum wage, your every move is controlled, and even on your "free" days you are followed by Dan (the camp's owner). If you don't drink Bryn Mawr's Kool-Aide it won't be a positive work experience. Many things happened to staff during my time there that are unethical to say the least.
