I'd originally taken my car into Point S in Beaverton, and they found a leak that they said was 'massive' and they quoted me what I thought was an outrageous amount to fix it.
So I decided to go to Certified Automotive Repair for a 2nd opinion. I took my car in, and later that day John called me back and explained that I did indeed have a leak, but it wasn't massive at all - in fact, it was so not massive that he couldn't be 100% where the leak was coming from, so he advised on putting in some dye in various fluids and then drive it around for a few days and bring it

Started coming in to Certified Auto with an old van I wanted fixed up. The van was old and rusty, and wasn't anything special, but right away they treated it like it was just as important as any high end vehicle! John and Misty at the front always made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands, patiently explaining what it was they were working on in terms even I could understand, and being open and honest when they couldn't quite track down an issue just yet.
And when the van had a few issues down the road, they immediately jumped on it and got it running again ASAP, even though the issues

I took my 1997 F-250 diesel in to have it safety checked and any needed repairs completed. I chose Certified Automotive because I read they have a good diesel mechanic. I am very happy with the work and service they provided. I was updated on everything they found and given an explanation of the work needed. The repairs were reasonably priced. I am looking forward to knowing I can safely tow my trailer and horse this year.

This is a good shop. This was a simple wheel alignment, but they got the job done and the staff are friendly. Misty at the front desk is wonderful, and makes for a very pleasant and easy experience! I'm giving only 4 stars because I didn't ever have a conversation with whoever did the work, which I'm used to, but maybe not necessary for just a wheel alignment. Regardless, I'd recommend it, and I'll be going again. Thank you!

Very professional, accommodating, friendly nice persons are John, and Misty and Eric. I was referred to Certified Auto Repair by, Joe, a person I meet at Whites on Commercial, where I meet some guys and have breakfast. I explained to Joe, I was told I needed a new cam, which is the cost of an engine and recommended I junk the car. Eric, felt the problem was in the timing belt and I also needed new rotors. Thank you, Certified.

New to Salem, I was a little nervous about finding a trustworthy mechanic. Luckily, I found this place. I was having intermittent engine trouble and they assessed and repaired the issue.
They were upfront about the costs (even came in under the quote) and had no problem talking and answering all my questions until I was satisfied. Worked incredibly quick and both front desk workers were nice, professional, and incredibly easy to works with. The lot is very secure and easy to access without being a problem for unsavory foot traffic.
All in all, they will likely be my go-to for as long as I am

Staff were very respectful and courteous. Repairs and maintenance were quick and on time at a reasonable cost. My son had an engine problem before. We took his car to two other mechanics who couldn't find the problem. C.A.R. found the problem and we're able to fix it in a reasonable time. I recommend this place to others.

Have never gone to a mechanic. Have always fixed things myself. Blown away at how great the communication was and never felt like this team was trying to SELL me anything. When doing a full tune up of our Suburban they ran into a few problems and gave their honest opinion on how long they think it will last and if it was severe enough to replace or not. Great customer service and very happy with the outcome. Drives smoother than when I bought it!

I made an appointment for a pre-purchase check on a used Class B RV. While waiting for the seller/vehicle to arrive, Brian, the owner, came out and introduced himself to me. Then Rich took time to review all that I knew about the vehicle and give further information about those features, especially the engine, and things to look out for (and which they would be checking) on an older/low mileage vehicle. When the seller/vehicle did not show up after a half-hour, I was armed with much new and helpful information for making a future choice of an RV. When I offered to pay something for the appointment

I have been coming here for nearly 3 years and I've never had a bad experience. When I first moved out on my own I was pretty wary about getting car repairs done--I'm a young woman who looks 14-16 years old, and I've had experiences in the past with sexism--people really do rip women off or talk to them in a condescending way with things like this. The guys at Certified Automotive are always kind, dependable, and go above and beyond to provide great service. The day after Thanksgiving last year I called to see if I could get my battery looked at--I had been stranded alone in another

As a business owner I know it's hard to get every detail right every single time. The crew here are amazingly courteous and have awesome attention to detail. I love and feel comfortable asking them any question or asking for a quote. They are not pushy and provide the information and let me decide without any pressure.
They are also very thorough as I am with my business. Thank you so much for your service.

I have been going to Certified for the last 5 years and have always had the best service. The office manager Bryan gave me the facts I needed to make important decisions about the maintenance of my car: items that were critical to repair and items that could be repaired later. They do all my services and repairs and always will.

I own a 1993 Jeep Cherokee for work. It is a right hand drive (RHD) vehicle that I use to deliver mail in rural areas. Took my box truck in for a lift gate issue. Was told I would get a call with an estimate. 3 hours later I got a call it was fixed $190. No estimate I guess??? I got it back to our business and it didn't work still. Took it to the dealer and got it fixed correctly. Also the dealer fixed with these guys screwed up. Was told to kick bricks on a refund for their "repair" that didn't fix anything. Dishonest!!!!!

I had been to these folks twice before, but today really sealed the deal. My car wouldn't start and AAA tested it and said I needed a new alternator. AAA towed the car to Certified, they ran some tests, and discovered that the alternator was fine. A battery cable had corroded and a connection from the battery to the alternator wasn't being made. What I thought was going to cost $400 cost a little over a hundred! These people are as honest as the day is long. I heartily recommend them.

Certified Auto Repair is amazing! They have the best customer service I've ever had at a auto shop. I was looking for honest shop to take my car in and found this place. I came in for a oil change and they quickly started working on my car. The mechanic that was working on my car came in after he was done and explained in detail what he did, and he checked my brakes, timing belt and vacuumed out my car for free! I'm glad I found this place and will be using them for any future car repairs. They will even pick my car up for me while I'm at work, do the repair or oil change, then drop

After having a new (used) steering column install in my Honda the summer of 2011, I discovered less than a month later that the "clock spring" (C.S.) wasn't working (I was told this by the shop manager when I later inquired about the problems I was experiencing) and, therefore, neither my horn nor my cruise control (and I have yet to discover what else) worked. When I spoke to the shop manager a couple of months after that (when I had a oil change), I was told that he would look for one (C.S.). This was documented in my repair file.
