After graduating from Meiji College of Oriental Medicine (the name changed to Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College) in Berkeley, California with the degree of Master of Science in Oriental Medicine in 2001, Ms. Okabe worked at Village Acupuncture/Center for Optimum Health in Roseville, California as an associate acupuncturist, where she managed to see and treat up to 60 patients per day.
Ms. Okabe is also specialized in pediatric acupuncture with many years of pediatric acupuncture experience. She uses the special pediatric acupuncture tools called "Sho-ni-shin" (means pediatric acupuncture needles) which were invented in Japan about 300 years ago. They are used to gently scrape, roll, or tap specific areas of the skin.
A. We use Japanese gentle and painless technique with very fine Japanese needles; therefore, the treatment should never be painful. With a gentle insertion technique, many patients may not even feel the presence of needles. A. Acupuncture is absolutely safe. We use only high quality, newly wrapped, pre-sterilized, disposable needles imported from Japan.

Wow, I can not express how much I like this place. I felt so welcomed from the minute I walked through the door. Emiko is a miracle worker, I have now had three treatments, and just after the first one, I have noticed a significant difference in my back, and the pain I was having it was a dull aching pain that would linger there, it has vanished! I have had this pain for over 12 plus years, which is the first time it has been gone.

Came here after I did my research to find a reputable and licensed acupuncture place near me. Since this place is located in Folsom, CA about 15 minutes from my home, I decided to give them a try since my right leg and back was constantly aching. Mind you, this place uses Japanese style of acupuncture instead of Chinese style and I found it quite refreshing. It was gentle and therapeutic.

Emiko is a kind and gentle person who listens and works with you. She makes time when needed and works to help improve your overall wellbeing through the practices of different acupuncture techniques. The facility is calming and peaceful, well kept and clean. It is a great place if you have never had acupuncture treatment before, such as me.

I went to Emiko after experiencing some shoulder and arm pain that was getting progressively worse. After the first visit my arm pain was reduced significantly. I also noticed that some nagging back and neck pain went away and never came back. I did a full month of acupuncture with Emiko and am happy to report that the arm and shoulder pain has not returned and I am now about 6 months past treatment.

I chose to go with this location after doing alot of research and decided it was worth the drive from Elk Grove. I had had lower back pain for about 5 months and I couldn't figure out what from. I had a baby almost a year ago so I figured it was from all the bending and picking up as well as hunching over while nursing. With that being said, this was so relaxing and within 3 visits my back was pain free!!! The thing that I think really helped was thr moxa. I will be back if needed for sure!

After just one acupuncture treatment I was possibly the most relaxed I'd ever been in my life. After 8 years of chronic muscle spasms due to a painful shoulder injury, sleep was replaced with pain & worry, and my health was failing in many ways. I have been seeing Emiko for almost 7 years and the acupuncture and herbs have helped me tremendously in so many areas but especially preventing frozen shoulder and everyday neck and shoulder aches and pains. I highly recommend her practice as she works on several ailments in a holistic and clean environment. She works on fixing the cause, not just hiding symptoms of the ailments.

I cannot say how thankful I am that I found Emiko! She is absolutely amazing!
I have had western acupuncture before, and it did help. She does Japanese Acupuncture though. So western acupuncture went directly to the site of the pain. That worked, but Emiko went to the site of the pain, the root of the nerve, and all along my body. I highly recommend this through and accurate practice!

Emiko is GREAT!!! I was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy about 2 1/2 weeks ago and basically the doctor's tell you that there's not much they can do, it's a wait and see thing...and wait and see if anywhere from 1-2 weeks up to 6 months. I did some research and found some people had success with Acupuncture. I called up Sakura Acupuncture up and she fit me in the same day. I've gone now for about 5 or 6 appointments and can see a real difference in my condition. Emiko is friendly and takes the time to get to know you and your situation. Emiko is the real deal. My teenage daughter is extremely sensitive and cannot endure a traditional Chinese acupuncture treatment, even though that was the only thing that has helped her many medical problems (western medicine gave up a long time ago). We stopped going to acupuncture because the pain and anxiety were beginning to outweigh the benefits. When I read about Emiko and Japanese acupuncture, we decided to give it a try and my daughter is so glad we did! My first experience with Japanese Acupuncture was in Santa Fe, NM, after a long bout of serious vertigo.
