Services
In 1989 Auction City opened its doors to the general public and conducted a weekly live auction every Saturday morning. We not only helped place Bay Area residents into vehicles but we were also helping local charities, government agencies and financial institutions liquidate their vehicles. Tens of thousands of vehicles have been auctioned to new buyers since we began.
We conduct live auctions of vehicles on the dates noted on our home page. Our auctions are not open to the general public. Only vehicle dealers and wholesalers may attend once registered with us. A Buyers fee of $85 plus 12% of the winning bid applies during live auctions. Up to 60 vehicles from various financial institutions, government agencies, and charitable organizations.

It a good auction if you want to get a car for the low there no test driving I’m just leaving a review because I took my car to a mechanic after and it had some major issues I’m not complaining we bought 2 cars and paid over 15,000 In maintenance after having the cars for no longer than 2 months but I guess it comes as is I just recommend you really look at the car before making the purchase because they will make sure from the outside it’s put together.

Went there twice.. The first time was 2 months ago just as look see and to see if this business had cars worth buying. After that visit I say yes.. The cars that are going to be sold sit parked in a warehouse with the keys inside.. No gimmicks. You get to start the cars, lift the hoods, sit it in it, run the heat run the AC.. Put the cars in gear. Check for any leaks.. All this without supervision.. They supply you with a list cars being sold that day. They have the starting bids posted.. Signing up for the auction is free and easy just give them your license..I felt way more comfortable buying

Over the years we have purchased 7 or 8 cars here. Every single car had issues. They clearly cover up these issues because they show up the moment you drive away. They clean any oil leaks and any thing else they can to cover it up. Over all if you are a mechanic and are willing to put in the time to fix the car go ahead and buy, but make sure you expect that each car will have issues. We always expected to have a couple of grand set aside to fix issues, and unfortunately several times we got burned for a lot more.

It's an auction house that sells donated vehicles, so obviously cars are not "like new" and that's reflected in the prices. I found that auction sale prices end up around half the retail price.
Some of the cars look well maintained, some are in need of TLC. Cars are sold "as-is" so do your homework. It's hard to fault the auction house for failures and defects found days or weeks after the purchase. This can happen with any used car, so do your homework and understand the risk. You're buying a car from an auction not because it's new, but because it's cheap...
I found the staff very friendly

I bought a 2003 nissan last year , util driving to my home the check engine comes on . Their said cant do nothing , you didnt buy the warranty por for 2 days . No good cars . The accion turn off check engine lights until thier have the cars.
So the bids it so hight, outside the door the cars cost more expensive then the cost .
For ejemplo if the bid was 2.000 add 800 more depending if the car due license fees add more many . So on the blue book the car cost 1500 you pay for the car the double the car cost ..
Not really good becaefull people .

These guys have sold thousands of cars over the years, almost all the cars ended up there because they were donated to charities. The good thing about that is that you are buying them cheap, low miles, much cheaper than dealer prices, and sometimes because of the volume of cars they sell, it's hard to make sure they are all perfect. But they give you plenty of time to come check out the cars, the day before the auction and the day of the auction.
I have been buying cars from Auction City for many years now, both for personal and for business, and a few needed work, but the majority were

I won the auction for a PT Cruiser. When I drove it away, it ran for about 50 feet, then the check engine light came on and the oil light too. I went back to the office, and asked for a full refund. I was told that sometimes when people check the engine, they move something that effects the way that the auto runs. Hm....yes, I am a gurl, but I am not stupid. The car was taken across the street to have it checked out by Auction City's "mechanic" who told them that it was a timing issue. I asked for a full refund and was refused because the machine had been shut down. I was told that they would get
