Dr. Bana Ball is more than just a board-certified pediatric dentist. In fact, she is a mother of two young children, Nikou and Nila. She loves spending time with her little ones and her husband, Mark, a urologic oncologist at the NIH. Dr. Ball is a comedy enthusiast, a crossword and jigsaw puzzle fan, an adventure traveler, a nature lover, and an aspiring yogi.
Our mission is to provide gentle and compassionate dental care for children and to instill a positive attitude towards oral health from an early age. We form genuine partnerships with the children's parents or guardians and have open and honest communication. Our primary focus is on evidence-based preventive care and minimally invasive treatment options that keep kids happy and healthy and make them excited to visit their dental home.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Ball and her staff! Everyone is so friendly from the minute we walked through the door. The office is beautiful and so clean! It was my daughter’s first dental visit, and it could not have gone better. We were worried because pediatrician visits are such a nightmare! So many tears involved. My daughter is so shy, but Dr. Ball worked her magic, and before we knew it, they were singing Frozen together! She truly takes the time to get to know her patients. Definitely no rushed feeling and social distancing is taken seriously. We will definitely be back

Dr. Ball and team are simply amazing. My son was a patient of Dr. Ball previously in Baltimore and when she opened this practice we immediately drove to Shady Grove to see her. Her team is welcoming and talented. Dr. Ball is caring and professional. My 11 y/o son has autism and sensory issues. He not only got a great check up including X-rays! We cannot say enough amazing things about this practice and Dr Ball personally.

We love Dr. Ball & Shady Grove Pedriatic Dentistry! I, myself, have a lot of anxiety just taking my children to the dentist, but I was completely put at ease right when we got there. The staff is so kind and really cares about the patients. The office is fun, and the whole experience really revolves around providing excellent care while putting the child at ease. I would enthusiastically recommend Shady Grove!

Brought my son to Dr. Ball and her team for his first cleaning. We both felt very comfy, friendly staff, clean and tidy office. Dr. Ball is knowledgeable but not pushy not to traumatize my almost 4 year old at his first visit. We look forward to seeing their team again in 6 months! Thank you to Ms. Krista and Ms. Yolanda too for the treasures at the end.

This is our second time at Shady Grove pediatric and they continue to impress me. From their warm demeanor, to detailed explanations about what they are doing, they make me and my child feel safe and cared for. Their COVID-19 protocol is well appreciated and adds to the level of care they provide. Dr. Ball, Kayla, and the rest of the staff at Shady Grove Pediatric Dentistry were fantastic. We were looking for a new pediatric dentist after our old one stopped taking our dental insurance. Shady Grove Pediatric Dentistry was highly recommended in local parent groups and from our daughter’s summer camp. They also accepted our insurance which was a huge plus. In addition, the office staff really seems to care and are willing to go the “extra mile” for their clients. If one could envision a perfect pediatric dentist’s office, only in a dream might you conjure up what exists in reality here. Krista and Adriana at the front invite you in as if you were guests to a grand ball. The waiting area and everything throughout is entirely age appropriate and inviting for both the children and the parents. Great place for taking our kids. From the moment my son and daughter walked into their office, they felt special. From having their names on a chalkboard to welcome them inside, to explaining everything being done to them so that they understand and feel safe throughout the visit. The attention to all the details was amazing. My kids immediately told me that they loved this new place and didn't want to go anywhere else. You guys have gained some loyal patients for the foreseeable future.

As a Justadontist, I personally know more than hundreds of dentists, and know at least 5 pediatric dentists.
Dr. Bana Ball is the best among them.
I have 4 little ones in the family, ranging from, 0 to 8 years old. I would bring all these kids to Shady Grove Pediatric Dentistry without a doubt.
The interior design is welcoming, warming, and beautiful. The office is wicked clean as well!
The parking is super easy, and the location is amazingly close to the highway.
I don’t know what else to say besides highly recommended, cannot wait to come back again.
