Hello. I called this business to schedule a consultation then subsequent appointments for Electrolysis. When I called a woman answered the phone by saying, "Hello.". I was surprised that she didn't answer with a proper business greeting so I said, "Hello, is this a business?". The lady rudely replied, "...uh, yeah but you're a male and I'm not interested.". Discrimination based on gender is illegal in NYC(and NYS) so I will be filing complaints on this business based on my potential business was refused based on my voice indicating I am a male.

Go to ESFIRsalon!! Susan is the least effective and most unprofessional electrologist ever. Buyer beware..complete waste of time, money, and since she can't properly treat the follicle she'll tweeze, reversing any previous real work done and causing the hairs to grow back within days. After calling for feedback to discuss future treatments she told me she's "never had a complaint" and not to come back. The room is in a dentist office too sorta creepy

Susan was terrific! She's fast, efficient and lovely. I got a Groupon and made a suitable appointment, she was punctual, didn't hurt too much and best of all, she was quicker than anyone that I've been to. She didn't waste time chatting but was happy to let me prattle on, and she did cataphoresis which really helped my skin. I've already recommended her to 3 friends.

However when I told her I got another Groupon; she informed me she would give me a deal for $25 per session (bc each of my sessions last less than 15 minutes) instead of the usual $40 per session and I would have to make up the difference of what I paid on Groupon. Then the next time I came here, she told me she didn't remember giving me this deal (asking for $40 per session) and she said I was trying to "

I bought a Groupon that was soon to expire and so I called to find out when I could come in and was given the BIGGEST attitude ever over the phone. Based on the reviews I have read, it would have been a waste of money anyway had I actually been able to make an appointment instead of being very rudely hung up on. I do not recommend wasting your money here. Groupon or not. She is clearly very unprofessional and is only out to steal your money.

Susan is EXCELLENT! She is very professional, clean, and personable! She really knows how to keep to her schedule so that clients don't have to wait for their appointments. I came to see her first time about 6 years ago, on a coworker's recommendation, and have been coming back ever since! Susan is honest, will never try to sell you treatments you don't need, and I absolutely love her eclectic music playlist :) I only have a few stubborn hairs left, and it makes me feel sad that one day I will not need to come back for more visits...

I visited an electrolysis studio before coming to Susan, and they scheduled people in blocks that made me feel rushed. They also skipped out on the cataphoresis at the end of each appointment. When I went to Susan she was timely, but never rushed to complete and area if someone was waiting. I really appreciated that.
Though it's not guaranteed, I personally had no irritation after my appointments with Susan as well. She has very reasonable hours and has always been flexible. I would recommend anyone to her, and her prices are reasonable as well. I haven't tried anywhere else since my first appointment

I have been going to Susan for a number of years and she does such an amazing job! She is so easy to talk to and is super professional but also makes her clients feel confident when leaving her suite. The room you go into is very clean and in a great neighborhood, I would highly recommend Susan for her services! She gets fantastic results in a quick and precise manner!

Susan is great! Friendly, FAST and really really good with the needle. She is a hoot as well - I always enjoy going to her clean, cozy office. She doesn't oversell, her prices are great, and she will only sell you a product if you NEED it. Big plus - she's the only electrolysist I've met who does cataphoresis after treatment, which radically reduces the redness. I can actually go out after my appointments with her. Very gentle touch.

I've been going to Susan for months, making excuses about her vast incompetence due to some of the good reviews here. But trust me when I tell you - it's the bad ones that count. During my many visits, I've been treated to: patches of missed hair, rapid regrowth, burned skin (all things I don't usually experience with electrologists who know what they're doing,) I have witnessed poor hygiene, and the cherry on top is of course her rude, arrogant attitude. Go there only if you want to waste money and happy minutes of your life. I certainly no longer will.

I've tried a few different electrolysis services and Susan is one of the best I've used. I've seen dramatic reduction - where I used to have stiff hairs I now have peach fuzz.
Her office is very clean. She keeps her equipment very clean and shows you that she is using a new probe for you. She seems to frequently be sanitizing her hands. After electrolysis, one can always expect a few bumps and tenderness but with Susan I've never had an infected pore, the way I experienced with other less fastidious places.
Be forewarned: she is particular about her appointment calendar

I found this place very unprofessional. First of all she put the glove on and than touched everywhere w those gloves after started to my face. The way she was touching my face was very uncomfortable. After the treatment I got pimples on my face and on my neck. She was complaining about ceause I did not want to buy more than two treatments in the begging. I told her I need to see first how she works ( which is not really good). After she told me she is available after two months because she is going vocation. I too found Susan through Groupon and she's lovely. I'll definitely be extending past my Groupon. She is a one person show so she is definitely multi-tasking during the call to set up the initial appt but then future ones are booked after each appt. Unlike laser it's time based so I could do lip and chin in my 15 min. She's just delightful, highly recommend!!

I bought a Groupon for four 15 minutes treatments. I called on a Wednesday she gave me an appointment for Friday. She sounded a bit busy in the background but she managed to put me on her schedule. Then I arrived and everything went great. She's lovely and professional. Definitely knows what she's doing. I'm happy that I bought the Groupon and I fully recommend it!

What a lovely woman! I just had my first electrolysis session with her (have had it before and purchased a groupon) and the experience couldn't have been more pleasant.
Susan is the most down to earth person I've encountered in the world of NYC esthetics. It was truly a pleasure chatting with her throughout the procedure.
I didn't experience nearly as much pain as I did at other facilities and she was extremely precise and quick! So glad I found her :)

I am a new patient that just wanted to know a few things before purchasing the Groupon deal. Needless to say, whoever picked up (I'm sure it was the owner as she stated "I don't give consultations" in a snide manner) was very off putting and proceeded to HANG UP THE PHONE ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot say enough positive things about Susan and her expertise as an electrologist. I have been doing electrolysis for a number of years on various parts of my body and I wish I had found Susan sooner. She is friendly, professional, expedient at removing hairs, resonably priced, and honest.
I have seen a huge improvement in the parts of my body that Susan has been treating in a very short amount of time!
I am extremely grateful to have found her and so conveniently located near all major Manhattan trains (and my house).
