The traditional route of communication includes the telephone. Our reception personnel are well trained, knowledgeable, friendly and happy to help you find the expert appropriate for your needs. Reduction of weight and decrease in obesity has been demonstrated to eliminate or decrease the effect of ALL OF THEM.
The LRYGBP is generally less painful. Patients are routinely out of bed and ambulating independently 2-4 hours after surgery. The small incisions lead to far less pain. The gas from the laparoscopy is the most uncomfortable part. The left lower incision is the largest and moist painful, but usually 1-2 weeks post operatively.

Dr Bertha and his staff are absolutely fantastic! I had to do 6 months of follow up appointment (a requirement of my insurance co.) So I've had a lot of experience with his office. Super friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I knew I was in the right place from the 1st day. I HIGHLY recommend his office if you're considering any kind of weightloss surgery.

My wife had the surgery with Dr Bertha in December of last year. He and his staff are awesome, if he was a regular doctor I wouldn't mind going to see the doctor. He explained everything clearly and concisely. He put my wife at ease with all of her questions and her concerns. Since having her surgery she is down 122 from a year ago and she looks amazing. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to have gastric sleeve or bypass surgery.

Highly recommend Dr. Bertha and his whole team at NJ Bariatric Institute. Dr. Bertha is a wonderful doctor who cares about his patients throughout the whole journey. Even after the surgery during my hospital stay I was able to call him and get help immediately at 9pm at night. I am so happy I stumbled across him while searching for a specialist. Don't hesitate do this for yourself and your health!

Dr. Bertha is amazing! He treats you like he's known you for years and takes the time to get to know you & understand your specific needs/desires. His nurse practitioner Sue is the same - she's so genuine & caring. The rest of the staff is so helpful as well and treats you like family. If you have the opportunity to see him please look no further. He has changed my life in ways I could've never imagined!

Four and a half years ago I met with Dr. Bertha. At 301 I had high blood pressure, diagnosed sleep apnea and was using a CPAP. Three weeks after my initial consultation I had a sleeve gastrectomy as an outpatient. I was back in my office 4 days later. I felt great, did not experience any pain, but every patient is different. Dr Bertha, is the very best in bariatric surgery. Honestly saved my life had my gastric sleeve surgery in September 2 years ago. Since that time I have been so much healthier. Preparing for my surgery Dr Bertha, was always available to answer any questions I had. After my surgery he was always available to answer any questions as well as provide guidance on nutrition and anything.
