For many people, pain is a constant presence. It can make daily tasks difficult, or it can be entirely debilitating. The pain management doctors at Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics specialize in managing and treating acute and chronic pain that has not responded to conventional treatments such as rest, medication, physical therapy, and surgery.

Our patients are individuals who, along with their physicians, are seeking alternative, advanced treatment options for their unrelenting pain caused by injury, illness, or disease. Working together with you, we can help relieve or decrease your pain and assist your return to your daily activities. We are committed to each of our patients - and the medical community - to be the best center for pain management in San Diego County.
Services
At Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics, our mission is to enhance the quality of life of our patients. We are passionate about treating those who suffer from pain, and we empathize with chronic pain's burden on you and those closest to you. When our patients first come to us, they are unable to enjoy daily activities with their families and loved ones.
At Coastal Pain & Spinal Diagnostics, our doctors use a multidisciplinary approach in the treatment of various pain disorders. We specialize in difficult cases where patients may have given up in their search for answers to persistent pain. We value maintaining a strong relationship with our referring physicians and other healthcare providers in order to be able to provide unique treatment options tailored specifically to each patient.
Coastal Pain's physician assistant (PA-C) works with our doctors to manage the full spectrum of a patient's pain management. Collaborating with our physician, the PA-C tailors treatment of pain based on multiple factors that include level of discomfort, type of pain, focal or diffuse nature of pain experienced, and overall impact on function in daily life.
Suzanne Nanson joined us at Coastal Pain in 2015 as Clinical Research Coordinator. Suzanne has been in the medical field for 27 years and has been a Clinical research coordinator for the last 13. Suzanne's background was Rheumatology until joining the Coastal Pain team, and she is loving the transition to Pain management.

I’m writing because I personally like Dr.Bansal-I found him to be personable and efficient in his assessment of my Mother’s back injury-(I’d come to the same conclusion but said nothing initially), and I specifically wanted to note that about Dr. Bansal. But here’s where it turns.
I walked in prepared with three different CD’s of my Mother’s x rays.Dr, Bansal’s assistant/tech claims that the CD’s won’t open-(and strongly infers that over the phone-when making the initial appointment, but insists that I bring the disks in anyway). I bring them in-but Dr. Bansal’s assistant refuses

DO NOT COME HERE!! This is the worst medical practice I have ever seen. They do not care about their patients and they do not return your calls. They botched my mothers surgery, crippling her and they have taken no accountability. I am disgusted with how they run a business. DO NOT COME HERE.

They deleted my appointment from the books all because I got upset that they never called me back. They botched up my medication and left me without my pain meds for over 10 days. I will be filing a complaint with my insurance company and if I need to I will be filing a company about this practice and contacting my attorney for pain and suffering. I do not recommend this place at all. They over charge and they don’t care about their patients. Getting anything done is a total nightmare.

I’m surprised so many people have problems getting callbacks. I’m on my third back surgery and have been working with the medical professionals at Coastal Pain for some time . I always get a callback. They are always friendly and kind.
It’s a very hard business to be in as a lot of people are just seeking pain meds for the wrong reasons. Unfortunately those who are truly in pain get scrutinized when seeking pain medication. I being one of them . Even after a seven hour back surgery and recovery that’s going to take up to a year.
We have an opioid crisis in this country . People are dying

Don't go here. They lie. They over charge. Who bills $919.00 for a 3 minute phone call??? I had credit for over a year and they never returned it.They actually took money out of my bank account without permission. They said they sent over 3 different referrals, which they didn't. After over 2 1/2 years I'm no better off than when I first started going here.

Horrible experience. I received an epidural shot on my spine on 4/26/2021, with a follow up 15 days after. on 5/10/2021 I received a follow up call from a staff whom could not provide any information because she did not have my complete medical chart. She did not know who my surgeon will be, or when will I be able to see a surgeon. She also made an appointment to discuss this issues for the following day but I never received a call. ( while all this is taking place I already have been in bed for 5 weeks unable to walk or sleep due to pain from herniated disks). On the third day 5/12/2021 I was

Doctors are fairly skilled, proficient and competent, I had a pain pump done by Dr. Miller and not any complaints medically speaking.
The admin, scheduling, and follow up is a bit lacking, as Dr.Miller said to come back in one to two weeks, but when attempting to schedule it, it was a bit over a month. You must be very direct and press upon the staff your issues, or it can often be difficult to be hear, as with any pain clinic.
However, in all fairness, this is common. As a patient it is hard to find a place that will be a to accommodate a personal touch and availability, as they, aside from

Horrible Patient services! Rudeness as soon as you walk in the door. Treat you as if you're pill shopping and don't really do anything to help you with pain. It's really about revenue generating. Went through the steps and was let down the whole way.

Thorough but fair
With some doctors not wanting to help or thinking your lying just to get medication I didn’t know what to expect. My doctor moved away and the replacement didn’t want to help me because the medication I take so that’s how I ended up here.
This being a pain clinic I don’t doubt the doctors here see the abuse and horror stories first hand. It’s sad all around.
I’m just thankful that after all the due diligence I was able to get help here. Yes, the doctor did things that made it more inconvenient than what I was used to. But I understand why it was done. It could have

Dr Patel is Great, we always talk and work on getting things better, He really Cares. It's not just like he walks in and says the same thing every time. We talk about getting better, how is what we are doing working and how can we make you feel better while figuring things out. Thanks Dr! Tom S

Hard to get an appointment with Dr. Sebahar....I had to wait almost 3 weeks, then had to change it, and had to wait another 3 weeks....However when I finally got in to see him, I was happy. He asked a lot of questions, let me ask a lot of questions, and was thorough with his answers. Hoping the results are worth the wait!
